COMMUNICATION COORDINATOR

 

SurfAid is a non-profit organization which aims to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing. SurfAid has worked in a few locations in Indonesia: Mentawai Islands District in Sumatra Barat, Nias District in Sumatra Utara, Bima District in NTB and Sumba Barat District in NTT. We work in the areas that are considered the most remote, with limited infrastructure and few community empowerment programs working there. 


We are looking for an experienced, resourceful person with a positive “CAN DO” attitude who is able to work independently as our:



COMMUNICATION COORDINATOR



As part of the Programs Team, the Communication Coordinator is responsible to support in developing and ensuring the implementation of communication strategies and work plans for SurfAid Indonesia.


THE PERSON:

You are an open minded person since you will be going to the field frequently to collect communication data and support the field team. You have good interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills to coordinate and collaborate with all teams within the organization to achieve the successful results. It would be great if you are used to working with small organizations, as you are required to be hands-on as necessary to contribute in improving the system and able to work independently.


THE QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or length of experience equivalent majoring in communication or media management.

  • Minimum 5 years experience working in journalistic, communication, media, publications or campaigns (in a managing or supervising role).

  • Experienced in planning organization’s communication needs.

  • Experienced in organizing media assets (photos, videos,infographics, newsletter).

  • Experienced in creating content and communication materials for both Indonesian and English speaking audiences.

  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Software (lightroom, photoshop, premiere, and GIS), and offline/online graphic design tools like Canva. 

  • Excellent copywriting skills for social media and other digital platforms in Indonesian and English.

  • Great interpersonal skills and able to respond to different needs from different teams.

  • Ability to work in teams or individually with CAN DO Attitude.

  • Eye for details.

  • Willing to be based in Bali
