International Organization for Migration (IOM) Indonesia is looking for Nurses (2 positions) according to the terms of reference below.

Position Title : Nurses (2 positions)
Duty station : Sikakap (Mentawai), West Sumatra – Indonesia
Classification : General Service, G3
Type & Duration of contract : SAIC, 3 months with the possibility of extension.
General functions:
Under the direct supervision of the National Project Manager of Sub Office in Padang, and overall guidance of the Migration Health Adviser IOM Indonesia, the incumbent will work closely with the Public Health Specialist for implementation of public health related aspect of the ‘Preparednessand Control of Communicable Diseases with Epidemic and Life Threatening Potential IDP settings” project, in compliance with IOM established procedures, to ensure orderly and timely implementation of project activities. In particular he/she will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
1. Work closely with Public Health Specialist to conduct an initial technical evaluation of the existing surveillance system to identify points for system strengthening.
2. Assist the Public Health Specialist to establish Community Health Volunteer (CHV) Teams in sub-villages across three islands (Sipora, Pagai Utara, and Pagai Selatan).
3. Work closely with Public Health Volunteers.
4. Conduct regular and accurate data gathering exercises in support of development of monitoring and evaluation tools and mechanisms.
5. In consultation with beneficiary populations across three islands (Sipora, Pagai Utara, Pagai Selatan) design and deliver health education, health promotion, and environmental hygiene promotion activities.
6. Establish strong communication with District Health Office (DHO) and local health facilities to develop/update guidelines on how to record population medical data with ability to process and manage data fed through EWARN surveillance system.
7. Liaise with local government representatives from Village head level up to Camat (sub-district), to ensure transparency and official endorsement of IOM work in their operating areas.
8. Act as the field level information focal point for IOM activities, keeping them informed of developments, including related activities by other service providers in our communities, at all times.

2. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time and commensurate with position.
Desirable Qualification :
Degree in Nursing, having practise license, at least two years general clinical experience at recognized health institutions (equivalent to class B/C level health institutions). Experience in public health and/or community health and health an advantage, good coordination and networking skills will be distinct advantage.
Good communication skills, personal commitment, efficiency and flexibility, ability to work with minimal supervision. Good level of computer literacy, awareness of gender issues. Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in a team with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds. Willingness to travel and work under difficult conditions.
Language: Good written and spoken English.
