Position Title: Senior Driver

International NGO seeks a Senior Driver. The primary responsibilities will be to drive international staff and to assist the IFES Administrative Assistant in managing the three cars and two drivers. Anticipated start is between 16 May and 30 May 2011.
IFES is an international, nonprofit organization that supports the building of democratic societies. IFES promotes democratic stability by providing technical assistance and applying field-based research to the electoral cycle in countries around the world to enhance citizen participation and strengthen civil societies, governance and transparency. Founded in 1987 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, IFES has developed and implemented comprehensive, collaborative democracy solutions in more than 120 countries. IFES Indonesia currently receives USAID and AusAID funding to support the strengthening of the electoral environment in Indonesia. The program provides assistance to stakeholders such as the KPU and national civil society organizations. The program has one international and eleven national professional staff and is situated in the business district on Jl. Sudirman.

Responsibilities include:

·         Operate assigned vehicle in a professional, safe and courteous manner;
·         Provide a comfortable and effective drive for assigned passengers;
·         Conduct tasks in town in support of the office, such as delivery and collections of items, procurement and paying bills;
·         Keep the assigned vehicle in immaculate condition, inside and outside. Coordinate the schedule for major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management and staff to minimize service interruptions;
·         Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested from management;
·         Be well-presented at all times when on duty;
·         Assist the IFES Administrative Assistant with managing all transport related issues in general, three vehicles and two drivers;
·         Assist with the reception and switchboard when required;
·         Be proactive and positive; and,
·         Any other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Applicants should have:
·         A minimum education of high school or equivalent;
·         Excellent driving skills;
·         In-depth knowledge of the roads and traffic of JABODETABEK (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi) especially in Central Jakarta and South Jakarta;
·         Read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient routes;
·         Work experience as driver for a minimum of four years with international organization;
·         Holder of a  valid driver license (SIM A), for at least seven years;
·         Fluent verbal English. Ability to read English and write basic English;
·         Willing to occasionally work overtime, weekend days and on holidays. Aside from the Monday to Friday normal working hours, there will on average be one long evening a week and two weekend days per month;
·         Excellent personal hygiene and health condition is a must. Being a none-smoker is an advantage;
·         Previous first-aid training and/or emergency response training is an advantage;
·         A minimum of two excellent references;
·         Candidate must be pro-active, positive, loyal and a consummate professional.
Position reports to Head of Finance and Administration.
