Position Title :School Disaster Risk Reduction Project Officer

Location : NTT

TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the line management of the School DRR Project Manager and in close cooperation with Thematic Officers, consultants and partner organizations, the project officer will ensure the successful implementation and follow up of the training sessions and the related activities within the schools. S/he will coordinate with other HI projects’ teams which are working in the same area.

The tasks in particular are:

*To participate to the drawing up of the ToT curriculum

*To participate to the built up of the process and tools for the diagnose of emergency contingency respond

*To organize and monitor the session to build up emergency contingency respond in schools and coordinate the drafting of first emergency contingency plan

*To coordinate the organization and the implementation of the mock drill sessions

*To coordinate the First Aid Training organization and implementation, and support the identification of focus groups within the schools

*To ensure the set Up and the follow Up of peer to peer support

*To ensure the smooth implementation of the general practice

*To manage a team of 3 Facilitators

DUTY STATION: School DRR Project Officer will be based in Kupang, NTT with regular visits to the field (Kupang District, TTS, TTU, Belu) and to Yogyakarta.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

*Master degree

*Minimum of 2 years practical experience in the field of DRR and/or formal education

*Minimum 5 years professional experience

*Excellent written and oral English

*Driving license

Desired:

*Master degree in the formal education or social sciences

*Experience in disability and/or Disaster Risk Reduction will be an asset Contract will be for a periodof 6 months
