In promoting children’s rights to participations, UNICEF has been supporting the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection organizing the Young Leaders and Young Writers Awards since 2004. After more than five years of annual award, UNICEF would like to review the effectiveness, impact and sustainability of the programmes, and seek recommendations for improvement.
To conduct the review, UNICEF needs to hire an institutional consultant which will do a parallel review of the two Awards. The consultant will review the impact and effectiveness of the competitions as means of protecting and realising children rights, especially the right to participation, and make recommendations on any necessary improvement of the competitions in order to make it more strategic and in line with the 2011-2015 Country Programme. The consultant will report to, and work closely with UNICEF Communication, Resource Mobilisation and Partnerships Cluster and the Assistant Deputy of Child Participation of the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection.
