Country Director (Telecommunication) base in Jakarta, Indonesia

Our client is one of Asia's leading telecommunication group, supported by some business units that operate in more than 20 countries. We are partnering with the biggest telecommunication company in Indonesia to deliver outstanding service and support in field of data communication.

Responsibilities:

The Country Director is expected to lead a team of highly skilled local staff in achieving the below objectives:
Represent and further company's interests in the country.
Generate revenue and profits from the country either directly or indirectly. depending on the local operating environment.
Manage company's customer base in the country, and work with as well as manage company's relationship with local service providers and partners.


Job Description:
Plan, gather resources and execute the various business functions of the company. For the immediate 2-3 year timeframe, the thrust of the office is to increase revenue for company either directly or indirectly by pursuing these business functions. Over time, the business functions evolve and change with HQ's directions as well as with the office's own initiatives in the local business environment.
Implement existing business plans to develop company's business interests in the country based on the office's assessment of opportunities and trends. Periodically review and refine such plans.
Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with the regulatory authorities, carriers, service providers, JV partners and business partners in the interests of company.
Manage and support company's corporate customers and accounts in the country.
Manage and operate the office efficiently and effectively. The Country Director oversees the business development, technical support, finance, accounting, human resources and cash funds management functions of the Global office with the assistance of local and HQ staff. The Country Director is required to give guidance to his/her staff, as well as ensure compliance with HQ policies.
Negotiate with local suppliers, service providers, channels, distributors and dealers to advance company's business objectives, either in reducing business costs, enlarging markets or improvements in other areas.
Serve as a funnel of market information and intelligence on developments in the country that have an impact on company's interests.
Serve as a channel to facilitate or introduce or develop new business initiatives either from HQ or from the office itself in the country office.
Execute or carry out other duties as required by HQ management units.

Requirements:
Basic degree in engineering or business administration, MBA is preferred.
8 to 10 years of working experience in telecommunication industry in which at least 5 years in senior managerial position.


Technical Skills Required
Telecommunications knowledge on network services for corporate and wholesale customers.
IT knowledge


Non-Technical/Soft Skills Required
Possess a strong working knowledge of the internal working processes of the Company, especially in corporate data and/or wholesale voice business.
Have good operational knowledge of corporate sales, account management, network commissioning and servicing.
Have a good grounding in managing finances, cash funds, bill collection, credit management, financial prudence and investment considerations.
Be able to lead, motivate and groom a team of skilled account management, sales, technical, administrative & finance staff to execute office's plans and support company's business initiatives.
Be able to work effectively in the local business environment as well as with customers, local staff, partners, associates and regulatory authorities and suppliers. Previous working experience in handling a team of staff at a supervisory or managerial position is required.
Be resourceful, independent, and mature enough to handle difficult customers and operates with minimum supervision. A team player who is able to work well under pressure.
