Clinical Specialist - MCHIP/Indonesia

Maternal and Child Health Integrated Program ( MCHIP) is working in Indonesia to increase the use of a focused set of interventions that address the major causes of death among mothers, newborns, and children under five years of age. Trough JSI- MCHIP is seeking candidate to fulfill the challenging position in our organization :

Clinical Specialist - MCHIP/Indonesia

Department: Maternal and Child Health Integrated Programs (MCHIP)
Position Reports To: MCHIP/Indonesia Serang District Program Manager
Positions Supervised: midwifery consultant Location: Serang District, Banten Province , Indonesia

Overview:
The Clinical Specialist will provide technical oversight and guidance within the Maternal and Child Health Integrated Project (MCHIP) in the Serang District. This Specialist will work closely with the District Program Manager and other technical officers to provide technical assistance in:
improving behaviors and practices at the community/ household level; increasing knowledge and competencies of skilled providers; and strengthening district planning and legislative processes to favor and sustain Maternal Newborn and Child Health priorities.
He/she will also work closely with District Health Officers and health facility staff.
In addition, the Technical Advisor will contribute technical support for national level MCHIP clinical health activities as needed.
S/he will lead activities to improve management of child and maternal health in Serang districts

Responsibilities:
· Contribute to overall MCHIP strategic planning
· Lead the process of streamlining and strengthening, as needed
· Provide technical assistance in maternal, newborn and child health in Serang District to achieve project goals, objectives and targets
· Assist to organize and conduct training activities, as needed
· Assist in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives for hospital and community-based health centers
· Collaborate closely with other MCHIP technical officers to introduce and/or strengthen community-based health care services for mothers and children
· Implement activities and ensure that the project is technically sound, evidence-based, and responsive to the needs of the district
· Work collaboratively with other project team members to ensure that necessary project planning, development, resource availability and management activities function smoothly and efficiently.
· Ensure high-quality implementation, consistent with Indonesia 's national health guidelines.
· Promote and support the dissemination of project information among the project team.
· Work with project and financial staff to prepare and track progress of project and activity budgets.
· Work with M&E staff to develop M&E framework and track data/results.
· Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues and donors in the country/ region.

Qualifications
Clinical degree (Medical Doctor), mastered is preferable·
Technical expertise in Maternal, Newborn, and Child health services·
A minimum of 2 years of level experience in providing technical oversight to clinical projects·
Proven leadership skills, as well as skills in facilitation, training, and coordination·
Strong leadership and technical capacity to support service delivery at facility and community levels·
Excellent interpersonal, writing and oral presentation skills·
Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and pressure to perform·
Ability to travel in MCHIP area
