Field Researcher - Open for Student

Burung Indonesia is currently conducting a program "Sustainable and Integrated Management of Mbeliling Forest" on the island of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. For that opened opportunities for student / i to conduct research or practice in the field of priority bird species in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara as well as enhance the knowledge and practical experience for the conservation of natural resources in forest areas Mbeliling, Flores.

Overview:

Conduct studies of habitat preferences and population size of four species of birds: kehicap flores (Monarcha sacerdotum), Flores crow (Corvus florensis), flores eagle (Spizaetus florists) and serindit flores (Loriculus flosculus).

qualifications:

1. Student / i S1 majoring in biology or forestry who have the interest to study the ecology of wildlife, especially wild birds ----;
2. Understand well the survey methods, the use of field equipment and data analysis;
3. Enjoyed working in the field and can adapt in a remote area during the study;
4. Can manage activities on the ground independently;
5. Can work together in teams.

Location: Mbeliling - Flores, East Nusa Tenggara
Duration of study: 3 months (October-December 2011)
For students / i selected, Indonesia Bird provides only:

1. Transportation to Flores (round trip);
2. Logistics (local transportation, accommodation and meals) during the study in Mbeliling, Flores;
3. Space and working facilities during field studies;
4. Life and accident insurance.

For students / i who are interested can submit an application to the Birds of Indonesia, not later than on 09 September 2011.

Application consists of:

1. Letter of submission;
2. Letters of reference from the supervisor;
3. A copy of student card;
4. Copies of identification cards;
5. The narrative concept of research to be done.

Only qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.
