Vacancy for Oxfam Indonesia Gender Justice Programme Lead

Oxfam Indonesia Gender Justice (GJ) Programme Lead  - Jakarta, Indonesia

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* The GJ lead will be responsible for the overall management/oversight of the Oxfam Indonesia gender justice program to ensure that initiatives are in line with GJ operating plan and The Oxfam country strategy (JCAS) objectives.
* Management of specific Gender justice programs, research, and partnerships as agreed.
* Represent Oxfam, coordination and build strong positive relationships with key national Government and non Government partners so they are aware of and understand the Oxfam Indonesia GJ strategy and create and promote linkages between Indonesia GJ program and partners with regional and international GJ efforts.
* Coordination with other senior Oxfam managers around GJ issues, including identification of staff and partner capacity building needs, supporting the establishment of linkages and learning forums and networks
* Chair the Oxfam Indonesia GJ working group, and take on the role of GJ representative in senior management meetings.
* Represent Oxfam in Indonesia and engage with in the broader Oxfam International confederation such as in regional and global initiatives.
* Assist in the identification of funding opportunities and lead on the development of funding proposals.
* Contributing to GJ aspects of program reporting for donors, the CLT /Oxfam affiliates in Indonesia
* Keeping up-to-date/sharing developments in GJ related issues and making recommendations to program management on opportunities for influencing;
* Coordinate, manage, participate in monitoring visits of GJ activities by Government, donors
* Undertake key pieces of work/projects as delegated by Indonesia Country Director and Oxfam Australia Program Manager including representational work, staff leadership etc
* Responsible for oversight/ monitoring of GJ related program and operational expenditure
Human Resources

* Line manage partnerships coordinator and MEL coordinator (performance management and staff development) when appointed
* Provide task management, mentoring support to Indonesia based consultants as delegated
* Ensure all team staff and consultants demonstrate good human resource practice and comply with agency policies and procedures
* Implement and monitor EEO, gender and OHS policies and procedures within areas of delegation
* Monitor workloads and work environment for self and for staff under management and take reasonable steps to minimise risks to self and others

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Knowledge & Experience

* Extensive knowledge and experience in management of GJ programs
* Extensive professional networks with Indonesian GJ activists
* Good knowledge of CSO, government and donor development agenda’s and priorities in Indonesia in relation to GJ
* Senior and extensive program management experience
* Knowledge and experience of creating change, both through working in partnership building alliances with other organisations and direct implementation
* Fluent written and spoken English
* Experience in humanitarian response and or economic justice work from a gender perspective is an advantage
* A relevant university degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline (desirable)

* High quality leadership skills and extensive experience in management of staff

* Proven program management skills
* Proven program planning, analysis and evaluation skills
* Capacity to link micro field based project work with broader macro public policy issues
* In depth understanding of community, regional and global development issues and their inter-relationships
* Computer literacy particularly MS Office and e-mail usage
* High level financial and fund management skills

Travel

The position would be expected to travel for between 10 to 15 weeks per year to support staff and partners, monitor and evaluate program direction, visit Field Office and undertake Oxfam International related activities
