Chemonics seeks short-term Fisheries Data and Information Management Specialist

Chemonics seeks a short-term Fisheries Data and Information Management Specialist for the USAID-funded Indonesia Marine and Climate Support project in Indonesia. The project’s goal is to support the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) efforts to achieve sustainability in the marine and fisheries sector and to improve the response of coastal communities to near-term disasters and long-term impacts related to climate change.

The Fisheries Data and Information Management Specialist will work with the Center for Data, Statistics, and Information (PUSDATIN) to assess MMAF data management and information use and provide recommendations for strengthening support for information-based policy and decision-making within MMAF.

Responsibilities include:

- Research and review background documentation on MMAF data and information management responsibilities, procedures, and processes.
- Conduct interviews and focus group discussions with stakeholders.
- Analyze research findings, including gaps, strengths, areas for improvement, successes, and obstacles
- Draft a report describing findings, making recommendations, and providing an action plan for strengthening MMAF data and information management.
- Conduct orientation sessions with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

· At least ten years of experience in a relevant field working with data and information management systems and processes.
· Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
· Proven ability to with varied stakeholders to gather quantitative and qualitative data, obtain feedback, and develop consensus.
· Strong interpersonal and written communications skills.
· Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
· Strong writing and speaking ability required in both Indonesian and English.
