OXFAM Australia Vacancies

The East Asia team need your assistance in circulating the below vacancies to anyone you think may be suitable/interested. The below positions are a part of the Country Management Team in Indonesia and report to the OI Country Director. Furthermore, these positions will play a key role in delivering the JCAS for Indonesia as “Go Live” approaches.

Rights in Crisis Lead -Humanitarian Programme Manager REF: INT5011

Open to Indonesian National applicants only

This key role is about leading Oxfam’s humanitarian programme at national level – working to protect the rights of those affected by conflict or disaster right across Indonesia and reducing their vulnerability to future disasters. You will analyse key issues and establish strong humanitarian strategies to ensure people caught up in crises have access to assistance and their rights are protected. You’ll be on hand to lead humanitarian work in the event of disaster, supporting the country teams. You’ll work closely with other agencies, coordinating your efforts across private sector and the Government of Indonesia with particular focus on improving disaster risk reduction programmes as well as humanitarian responses. More importantly, you’ll represent Oxfam to key stakeholders and influence the decision-makers. It’s a chance to build a strong career and make your mark at the heart of a respected network in Indonesia.

We are looking for Indonesian Citizen who has significant experience in managing humanitarian responses and DRR programmes within Indonesia. You’ll have extensive knowledge of humanitarian principles, law and policies. You’ll certainly be committed to promoting gender equity issues, and you’ll have a good understanding of the country development issues you’ll face. But as well as your strategic abilities, you’ll need the proactive approach, drive and influencing skills to strengthen key relationships and make an impact at high levels. So your communication and networking talents will really come to the fore and you’ll work with our diverse and dedicated teams.


Economic Justice Programme Lead REF INT5028

Open to international and national applicants

Our work needs to adapt constantly to be relevant for Indonesia on key poverty and inequality issues, specifically related to Food security, Agriculture and Climate change. So we will look to you to understand the trends and produce policy briefing papers, policy position statements and public communication materials for Indonesia, which will also contribute effectively to the development of Oxfam’s global briefing papers and briefing notes.
You’ll also collaborate with other key staff in the Oxfam Country Leadership Team, Oxfam Affiliates and external donors to maximise synergies on economic justice work. You will develop a network of contacts linking and learning to strengthen and develop Oxfam’s portfolio on economic justice.

We are looking for a strong thinker on development, sustainable livelihood and economic justice issues. You’ll have proven 10 years expertise and minimum 3 years experience in policy analysis and management that will show your ability to deliver persuasive networking and briefing papers. You’ll have outstanding written and verbal communications skills, with an ability to simplify complex concepts both verbally and orally in order to influence others. Fluency in written and spoken English and spoken Bahasa Indonesia is essential.
