International NGO seeks several IT staffs who will work under the supervision of an international consultant and assist with the daily operation and implementation of an IFES project. The positions are Jakarta based and full time. Anticipated start is 1 January 2012.
IFES is an international, nonprofit organization that supports the building of democratic societies. *IFES promotes democratic stability by providing technical assistance and applying field-based research to the electoral cycle in countries around the world to enhance citizen participation and strengthen civil societies, governance and transparency.* Founded in 1987 as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, IFES has developed and implemented comprehensive, collaborative democracy solutions in more than 120 countries.
IFES Indonesia has received AusAID funding to support the strengthening of the electoral environment in Indonesia. The project is currently fully funded for nine months starting 1 August 2011, but expects to have new funding from the same donor to at least through the 2014 national elections. The program provides assistance to stakeholders such as the KPU and national civic society organizations. The program will have five internationals and 23 national professional staff and is situated in the business district on Jl. Sudirman and Jl. Thamrin.
*Position: Junior Programmer (2)*
Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension
Responsibility:
- Learn how the existing working design work
- Maintain and modify existing programs
- Consult the supervisor on every function they working on
- Make approved changes by amending flow charts and coding changes
- Write new program code using prescribed specifications
- Document programming problems and resolutions for future reference
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Excellent programming skills (PHP and MySQL)
- Good ability in creating system documentations
- Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Well organized and able to work in fast paced and demanding environment
- Hold bachelor degree from reputable university, preferably majoring computer and engineering

*Position: Senior Software Engineer (1)*
Duration : 1 month with possibility of extension
Responsibility:
- Mastering the latest version of dptools of KPU
- Learn to the working design of the new vr register system
- Decomposing dp tools features into separated functions
- Wrap the functions into independent class
- Mapped and integrate the class to the working design of the new system with help of the supervisor
- Evaluate simple interrelations between the class such as whether a contemplated change in one part of the class would cause unwanted results in a related part
- Confer with the expert group to gain understanding of needed changes or modifications of working integrated tools, resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls
- Analyze performance of the new dp tools within the working design and take action to correct efficiencies based on consultation with expert group and approval of supervisor
- Write and maintain integration documentation
Requirements:
- Expert in LINUX servers: replication, clustering, monitoring, backup/recovery
- Excellent skill in creating system documentations,
- Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Working experience minimum 10 year in network engineering industry
- Experience in network operation center architecture design especially with national-scale projects
*Position: Senior Network Engineer (1)*
Duration : 1 month with possibility of extension
Responsibilities;
- Analyze existing network operations center architecture and spec of the KPU
- Design and implement network configurations, network architecture (including hardware and software technology, site locations, and integration of technologies), and systems
- Identify areas of operation that need upgraded equipment such as modems, fiber optic cables, and satelite or any other networking technology
- Develop and write procedures for installation, use, and troubleshooting of communications hardware and software
- Work with other engineers, systems analysts, programmers, technicians at kpu and the expert groups in the design, testing and evaluation of systems
- Test and evaluate hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability and compatibility with existing system and make purchase recommendations
