AHA Centre Vacancy: Writer for AHA Centre 1st year Progress Report (Consultant)



The Association of Southeast Asian Nations
(ASEAN) is a regional-intergovernmental organisation founded in 1967, to
promote peace and stability, sustain economic growth, shared prosperity and
social progress. It comprises ten countries of Southeast Asia.

The ASEAN Leaders at their 19th ASEAN Summit on
17 November 2011 officially launched the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for
Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management, popularly referred to as the
AHA Centre. The AHA Centre will facilitate co-operation and coordination among
ASEAN Member States, and with relevant United Nations and international
organisations in promoting regional collaboration in disaster management.

TheAHA Centre is planning to
produce a publication to showcase the programmatic and financial operations of the
Centre, that will mark the1st anniversary of the organisation.

AHA
Centre, is looking for a WRITER to produce the 1st year progress
report. The Consultant will be responsible in drafting and proofreading of the
report. The Consultant will also responsible in ensuring that the final product
is error free and meet the high quality standard of international publication. The
contract period of this consultancy service will be for 2 months (with possible
extension).
Criteria for the Writer (Consultant):

* Education: Preferably Master's Degree in related fields such as English, Public Relations, Media and Communications, etc;
* Excellent writing skills in English;
* Excellent organisational skills;
* Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate and
work with diverse people at the AHA Centre and other offices related to the
Centre;
* Sound experience in producing corporate products;
* Understanding of humanitarian assistance and
disaster management issues is an advantage;
* Ability to be flexible and respond to changes to
text as part of the review and feedback process;
* Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
