Immediately Required: Systems Administrator

The Expert Group of the  Voter Registration Initiative is engaging a full
-time System Administrator to provide adequate network application service
to a nationwide user base of several thousand. Under the close guidance of
the Senior System Administrator this System Administrator will use their
demonstrated ability to analyze, plan, design and implement network
application service systems in accordance with service requirements. Our
user’s profiles are not only civil servants but also political party
representatives and members of civil society. In this role, you will be
responsible to convey technical concepts and recommendations to technical
and non-technical staff at all levels, both orally and in writing, in a
clear and concise style.



*System Administrator Responsibilities:*

   - Install, configure, maintain and support server OS and network
   applications and provide prompt system user support.
   - Support the design, implementation and maintenance of web server
   applications, network database applications, mail server applications and
   multi application service platforms.
   - Support the design, implementation and maintenance of server cluster
   and virtualization.
   - Implement security policies.
   - Review server OS and network application configuration to propose an
   effective upgrade strategy to keep up with changing technology
   - Prepare high availability data and application system and data backup.
   - Use server system management and monitoring tools to prepare
   problem-analysis reports, resource utilization data, suggest measures to
   maximize server resources efficiency and provide recommendations and
   reports for management review.
   - Provide network application service support to the application
   development specialists ensuring their development process does not
   interrupted by server failure or network application service unavailability.
   - Work closely with other specialists on the development and
   implementation of server OS and network application services and policies.
   - Provide technical guidance for technical staff.



The System Administrator must have a demonstrated track record working in a
intermediate system administration role ideally but not necessarily in the
software/information technology sector. The System Administrator will be
engaged with the  Voter Registration Initiative for an initial period until
30 November, 2012. It is expected that the role will be conducted on a
full-time basis in the offices of the Infrastructure Support Team.
