Chemonics International seeks short-term Community Adaptation Project Specialists

Chemonics International seeks Climate Adaptation Project (CAP) Specialist for
the USAID-funded Indonesia Marine and Climate Support (IMACS) project. This
project provides technical support for improving key marine and fisheries
sector components with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF),
local governments, coastal communities, and the private sector.

The CAP Specialist’s responsibilities include:

·         Assist with the promotion of key tools for climate change
assessment and adaptation planning

·         Engage stakeholders during national, provincial and district
policy reviews to identify obstacles to coastal

       community adaptation.

·         Provide the technical assistance needed to strengthen MMAF
capabilities in coastal community adaptation,

·         Develop the regulatory framework and awareness campaign for
climate adaptation practices along the coast, track

       vulnerabilities and climate change impacts, and contribute to
appropriate land and sea use planning.

·         Special attention will be directed to conserving critical
habitats such as mangrove forests and coral reefs that act

       as buffers against storm damage and maintain ecosystem services in
the face of sea level rise.

Qualifications:

· Advanced degree preferred.

· Knowledge of issues related to climate change adaptation and natural
disasters in coastal areas in Indonesia.

· At least 5 years of experience in a role relevant to the work listed above

· Proficiency speaking and writing in English
