Research Assistant

Project title: Reaching Out and Linking In: Health Systems and
Close-To-Community Services

The positions offer opportunities for motivated candidates to join an
international collaborative project between the Eijkman Institute for
Molecular Biology and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, UK.
The Eijkman Institute is a prestigious well established internationally
acclaimed research institute advancing and contributing to infectious
and non-infectious disease based scientific research. Liverpool School
of Tropical Medicine is an international centre of excellence with up to
date access and expertise in tropical infectious diseases making them a
world leader in their field.

Computer literacy, time management and organisational skills and ability
to work both collaboratively and independently across a
multi-disciplinary team are essential. Good command of written and
spoken English is necessary for the roles below;

Research Assistant

Purpose: To work under the mentorship of the project Principal
Investigators and under the coordination of the Operation Research
Manager to ensure the study is implemented according to the protocol and
support day-to-day research activities. The work will be based at
Jakarta with frequent travel to the field, for a fixed term of 12
months. Contract is extendable yearly up to 5 years, the total duration
of the project.

Qualification: Bachelor in Public Health or Bachelor in Medicine

Additional merit: Public Health background especially on maternal health
or Master in Public Health Degree is desirable. Work experience in rural
settings 3 months or more.

The successful candidate will be based in Jakarta with frequent travel
to the field site in South West Sumba and in West Java district. He/she
is open to learning new skills. Responsibilities include:

· Assist the PIs and the Operation Research Manager in the
preparation and translation of study protocols, tools, and forms.

· Engage in the partners' workshops and training of the
study team with guidance from the PIs and the Operation Research
Manager.

· Managing field survey, participant enrollment and supervise
data collection and data entry

· Assist in the logistics, management, and coordination
tasks.
