Vacancy: Liaison Officer

The Nature Conservancy is a conservation organization working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.

Currently we are searching for a qualified candidate to fill the position of:

LIAISON OFFICER

The Liaison Officer’s main function is to facilitate and administer the programs implementation of Savu Sea Marine National Park Development Project.  Specifically, s/he will support in maintaining relationship with BKKPN Kupang, provincial and districts fisheries, and other agencies, as well as to carry out information dissemination pertaining to Savu Sea MNP management and zoning plan and/or other policies, regulations or other project activities. The activities will include but not limited to: (a) providing administrative support to the project activities implemented under the conservation and outreach/communications component, (b) liaise with various NGOs, communities and government partners particularly partners for the communications and partnership program component. S/he will also closely work with partners to ensure that their administration reporting is in line with TNC requirement; providing logistic support; assisting with workshops and other events; mentoring community groups/forum to apply best practices with respect to administrative and financial aspect of the grants.
In addition, s/he will assist the Savu team with travel arrangement, including the visiting of TNC-IMP staff and/or VIPs, support Savu team and partners related project administration compliance with TNC SOPs especially for the partners and activities that are conducted outside of Kupang. S/he also provides logistical support and other operational related matters as required, and support TIS in project.


This position will be based in Kupang, and will report to the Savu Sea Project Leader.  To ensure solid implementation of the Savu Sea Sustainability Plan, s/he must coordinate closely with the Conservation Coordinator, Outreach and Communication Coordinator, Operations Administrator.

Requirements:
•         Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experiences in social sciences, government relations, public policy, or related; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
·         Ability to organize time and manage diverse activities.  Meet deadlines.
·         Experience in MS office, word, and excel.  May require database management skills with ability to produce reports.  Ability to use advanced computer functions including navigating the Internet.
·         Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
