International Organization for Migration (IOM) Indonesia is looking for an Operations  Assistant according to the terms of reference below:

II. Organizational Context and Scope

Under direct supervision of the National Operations Officerand the overall supervision of the Deputy Chief of Mission, the incumbent will response and provide care and support to interception casesof the migrants at the location where the migrants intercepted.

III. Responsibilities and Accountabilities
1.       Assist the intercepted migrants at any time when there is an interception.
2.       Follow up and maintain coordination with the Immigration Department and the INP (Indonesian National Police) and other local authorities to take care of the interception migrants, in close coordination with the Senior Operations Assistant III.
3.       Provide the care and assistance to the intercepted migrants as necessary.
4.       Visit and monitor the intercepted migrants and ensure that all basic needs/servicesinclude adequate and appropriate food and water, acceptable accommodation facilities, security and medical assistanceincluding psycho-social counsellingare provided to all interceptedmigrants in a timely and efficient manner.
5.       Provide counselling to Irregular Migrants on their option to continue stay in Indonesia orVoluntary Return to country of origin.
6.       Coordinate with the Medicalteam and Psychosocial Support team to ensure that all intercepted migrants are provided adequate and appropriate medical services, including psychosocial counselling.
7.       Provide ad-hoc support to local authorities in areas related to identification and handling ofirregular migration;
8.       In coordination with Finance Unit, manage the operational expensesand ensure IOM expenditure is based on IOM regulations,
9.       Provide ad hoc activity report to the Supervisors
10.   Provide monthly statistics and formatted reporting
11.  Perform other duties as may be assigned

V. Education and Experience

a).  Minimum Diploma degree (D3) in economic, political, social science or business and counseling.
       A university degree in any of these fields will be highly regarded.
b).  Have minimum 4 years of experience in any of these fields particularly in dealing with migrants
       and training or livelihoods projects.
c).  Previous experience working with IOM is an advantage.
d).  Experiences in areas related to the work of humanitarian matters or experience gained from
       working in the UN is an advantage.

 
VI. Languages

Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both oral and written.
