Swisscontact - SCPP: Android Software and System Developer

For our Sustainable Cocoa Production Program (SCPP) in
Indonesia, we are looking for an

Android Software and System Developer
The SCPP project is a large Public Private Partnership (“PPP”) in
Indonesia which was established in January 2012. The Project is financed by the
Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO, The Sustainable Trade Initiative
IDH, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and five Private Sector
Companies from the cocoa sector for the duration from 2012 – 2015. The Program
works directly with 60,000 cocoa farming households in six Indonesian Provinces
to improve farm productivity and livelihood conditions.
All software development for data collection, analysis, and reporting is
in-house which offers experience in the full software development cycle.

Tasks:
The Android Software and System Developer will work with M&E and IT
team to design and create Android applications that provide SCPP to collecting
data in the field and manage file transfer into database system. This will be
integrated in web based database system and cloud server and tasks include:
•           Develop
and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize data
quality.
•           Develop
and maintain databases and data systems (SQL Server/MySQL).
•           Develop
mobile clients that communicate with back-end server/cloud systems.
•           Contribute
to all phases of the Android Apps development lifecycle, including requirements
            definition,
specifications, development, test, product release, and sustaining of the apps.
•           Work
effectively in an Object-Oriented design methodology environment.
•           Collaborate
with a growing development team.
 
Knowledge/skills:
•           Demonstrated
success creating Android applications for phone and tablets.
•           3
years experience with SQL Lite & databases.
•           Experience
with iOS and Objective C.
•           Experience
with XML & API's.
•           2
years experience with cloud technology.
•           3
years experience with web database system.
•           3
years experience with MySQL System.
•           Experience
with GIS and mapping system is a plus.
•           Experience
with IT networking and infrastructure is a plus.

Requirements:
•           Graduate
or undergraduate in Information Management, Project Data Information,
Computing,
            Mathematics,
Statistics, or related fields.
•           Previous
data analyst and/or software development experience.
