Vacancy at CI Indonesia-Marine Policy Specialist base in Jakarta

Conservation International (CI), an international
non-governmental organization, is seeking applicants for the following position
to be based in Jakarta:

Marine Policy Specialist

This position is expected to develop and
implement CI Marine Policy and initiatives, based on his/her analysis on the
exciting Indonesia Marine policy and regulations. He/ she will work to support
Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Affairs to develop national policy related to
marine protected areas. He/ she will also provide technical assistance and work
in collaboration with relevant field programs to develop and implement marine
policy and initiative in provincial and regency level as well as marine protected
areas establishment and management. He/ she is expected to establish networking
with national and local stakeholders in marine protected areas. He/she will
lead and facilitate the BHS in governance matter.

 Key
Duty/Responsibility:
 1.     Develop and implement
policies and advocacy initiatives supporting CI marine programs at national and
seascape level, through advocacy work, policy analysis and preparing policy
papers.
2.     Support Ministry of
Fisheries and Marine Affairs to develop national policies related to marine
protected areas such as Ministry Regulation, technical guidance, and others.
3.     Support field programs to develop and implement
marine policy works in provincial and regency level such as local regulation
spatial planning, and others.
4.     Support
and provide technical assistance to field programs to establish marine
protected area and develop marine protected area management such as management
plan, zoning, management body, and others.
5.     Establish
and maintain the network of stakeholders at national and local level.

Qualifications:
·         Master’s
degree and/or at least 5 years working experience on facilitating the process
of MPA establishment and management, and/ integrated coastal and marine
management in Indonesia
·         Knowledge
and capable in policy for marine protected area management an era of
decentralization of natural resources management.
·         Knowledgeable
and experienced in MPA management in Indonesia and the principles of integrated
coastal management
·         Experienced
in integrated coastal zone management
·         Experienced
in partnership building, communication, and facilitation
·         Strong
in leadership and interpersonal skills and able to interact and engage with the
full range of important stakeholders from government officials, university,
NGO, and community leaders
·         Fluent
in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
