Aquaculture Advisor for SNV Indonesia

SNV is currently establishing a presence in Indonesia. Using market based approaches, SNV is committed to reducing poverty by catalyzing environmentally sustainable solutions for the poor in agriculture, energy, water & sanitation, and climate change.

SNV is now seeking the services of an experienced and dynamic Aquaculture Advisor to work with government, companies and local and international organizations including the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) to support the development of sustainable shrimp industry in Indonesia.

Responsibilities
* Provide technical and coordination support to  the inception phase of the IDH Farmers in Transition (FIT) program targeting the shrimp sector
* Support private sector companies to generate proposals to the FIT Fund
* Actively participate in SNV strategic positioning meetings
* Identify and document key sustainability issues for shrimp aquaculture and help establish a national dialogue
* Perform and write a site selection assessment that identifies best locations for Shrimp-Mangrove project
* Serve as liaison and lead contact person to aquaculture stakeholders including governmental, NGO,research and private sector organizations
* Identify and work with potential implementing partners and companies to generate project applications compliant to the FIT program
* Support the development of Monitoring & Evaluation system
* Create and maintain contacts with key companies and organisations and maintain an up to date database
* Develop and deliver training and coaching in shrimp certification and other associated topics
* Ensure and monitor progress and quality of advisory services and program implementation
* Document and share lessons learned within SNV, clients and stakeholders
Candidate Profile
* Degree in aquaculture or
equivalent
* Strong knowledge of the
aquaculture sector, aquaculture standards and certification processes
* Ability to write
sophisticated funding proposals in English
* Solid contacts, networks
and relationships with relevant aquaculture actors in Indonesia
* Minimum 3 years relevant
experience at an international company or development organization
* Results orientated with an entrepreneurial
attitude
* Strong project management
and monitoring and evaluation skills
* Excellent written and communication
skills in English, both spoken and written.
* Good
computer skills in MS-applications (Word, Excel, Internet, PowerPoint)
* Indonesian citizen
 Contract Duration:The position is based in Jakarta. SNV Indonesia offers a
one-year contract with the possibility of extension and a competitive salary
package.
