Expressions of interest – Maternal and Newborn Health and Nutrition – Indonesia – Team Lead + M&E Long Term Adviser

Overview

Abt JTA is currently preparing to tender on an AusAID funded program termed the Australia-Indonesia Maternal & Newborn Health & Nutrition program. This is an 8-year program with the principal goal to increase the health and nutrition of women, newborns and young children in rural and remote areas of provincial Indonesia. The objective is to provide poor rural families, in particular women and infants, with greater and inclusive access to primary healthcare and good nutrition during pregnancy and post-natal. AusAID support will contribute to the following end-of-program outcomes in selected provinces and districts:


    Reduced number of maternal deaths, particularly among poor and near poor women.
    Reduced number of neonatal deaths, particularly among poor and near poor populations.
    Reduced prevalence of stunting, particularly among poor and near poor children under five.

Opportunities

Abt JTA is seeking expressions of interest from highly experienced and skilled personnel for the following opportunities:

    Team Leader – Individuals will need to have experience in managing and directing a Maternal and Child/Neonate Health and nutrition program as well as providing high-level advice to stakeholders.
    Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist – Candidates will need to demonstrate experience in leading the identification and scoping of research, knowledge generation and dissemination activities.

Both roles require a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience. Prior experience in project preparation in Indonesia will be a significant advantage.

Essential expertise

Ideally you should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working within senior Maternal and child/neonate health service management or senior health program monitoring and evaluation positions including time spent working in Indonesia. Naturally, you will also have exceptional communication and organisational skills with a flexible and responsive working style and a desire to work in-country. Candidates should have tertiary qualifications in Public health management or similar and be eligible for international travel.
