GIZ Vacancy - Junior Advisor for Renewable Energy

Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit
(GIZ) GmbH is the German International Cooperation implementing sustainable
development on behalf of the German Government.


GIZ has a record of more than 20 years of involvement in
renewable energy (RE) in Indonesia. Starting from rural electrification and
mini hydropower, the portfolio expanded to other renewable energies and larger
grid connected systems such as biomass/biogas and photovoltaics.  GIZ in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and
Mineral Resources (MEMR), the Ministry of Home Affairs and the ASEAN Centre for
Energy is presently implementing five different projects. GIZ aims to
strengthen capacity building in the Indonesian RE sector and strives to support
implementation and quality insurance of various RE applications.   Further information can be found on the following

GIZ seeks qualified Indonesian candidates for one
position Junior Advisor
for Renewable Energy.  The position is to be manned as soon as possible. GIZ
strongly encouraged women candidates to apply.

A.     Responsibilities
§  Support information management of the project on
renewable energy related matters in the ASEAN;
§  Support the project’s internal knowledge management;
§  Support the management in planning and implementation
of ASEAN-RESP project activities.

B.     Tasks
1.      Information
Management
§  Observe and analyze (new) developments with regard to
renewable energy in the ASEAN region;
§  Produce texts and input for ASEAN-RESP information
dissemination instruments (web portal, newsletter, etc.);
§  Update and maintain information dissemination
instruments (web portal, newsletter, etc.) in cooperation with the PR
professional and the project team;
§  Supporting the elaboration of project information
media (studies, reports, etc);
§  Contribute to quality assurance for project and
partner documents in English;
§  Support networking activities and knowledge transfer
between relevant organisations and institutions in the ASEAN renewable energy
sector.

2.      Knowledge
Management
§  Support the preparation and conduction of team
meetings;
§  Support knowledge exchange and transfer with  the
ASEAN region, especially with other
GIZ renewable energy projects;
§  Maintain and develop contacts and foster dialogue with
stakeholders such as private industry, NGOs, other government institutions,
banks and relevant projects in Indonesia and the ASEAN region;
§  Support monitoring and evaluation activities related
to the project’s steering and result measurement
§  Maintain information exchange with other project
within the GIZ RE Programme in Indonesia.

3.      Implementation
of Project Activities
§  Support the planning and implementation of ASEAN-RESP
project activities;
§  Support the coordination of activities related to RE grid
integration in cooperation with the project team;
§  Support the implementation of RE Guidelines for the ASEAN
member states in cooperation with the project team;
§  Conduct research and produce input for project activities
and related deliverables (background papers, studies, etc.);
§  Supportthe
organisation of events (workshops, seminars, conferences, etc.)

4.      Other
duties / additional tasks
§  Perform other duties and tasks on request of management.

C.     Required
qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications
§  Master degree (or equivalent) in a field relevant to
the position;
§  Good understanding of socio-economic aspects of energy
as well as technical aspects of renewable energy development;
§  Prior experience in (renewable)energy.
§  International experience

Professional
experience
1-2 years working experience in a field related to
renewable energies.

Other knowledge, additional competences
§  Very good working knowledge of relevatncomputer applications (e.g. MS Office);
§  Excellent knowledge of English,
including writing capabilities; proficiency in one or several languages of the
ASEAN region is a merit
