*BRIEF*
SOS Children’s Villages Indonesia is a part of SOS-Kinderdorf International
which is an international umbrella organization of national associations.
It is a non-governmental, non-political, non-denominational and non-profit
social development organization, working exclusively in the public
interest. Its objectives are:

-          To provide specialist care and support for orphaned and
abandoned children through the SOS Children’s Villages.

-          To support children, young persons and families in need through
the establishment of social centers, schools and vocational training
centers.

-          To advocate and promote the rights of children throughout the
world.

-          To work with international organizations, and promote world-wide
understanding and exchange of knowledge on child care issues.

-          To serve as a model of long-term family based care.

*POSITION PURPOSE*

*The** Educator**: *

1.      Co-ordinates all village activities.

2.      Guides the village and co-workers in a strategic way according to
SOS Children's Villages' policies and values.

3.      Assures the quality of child care within the framework of the SOS
family child-care model.



*JOB PROFILE*

1.      Guides and supports each SOS mother to ensure the well-being of the
SOS families.

2.      Provides framework conditions for families and children to grow.

3.      Ensures that the individual needs and rights of children are
addressed and respected. The rights and concerns of children are at the
centre of his/her work.

4.      Ensures the implementation of the organisation’s policies and
guidelines, effective planning, evaluation, reporting and financial
management.

5.      Builds partnerships with the local community and government
authorities and represents the SOS organisation and its integrated approach
(family-based child care, family strengthening, education and advocacy) to
the internal and external environment.

6.      Comes to terms with living both private life and profession and
strives to bring them into balance his/her work is based on good and
effective guidelines of *leadership & management *(e.g. human resources
development etc) and *child & youth care* (e.g. child and family
development etc). These two main task areas are equally important and
complement each other.



*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*

·         Minimum desired qualification is Bachelor in Pedadogic,
Education, Management, Human Resource, Social Work, Psychology, or similar.
Graduates with Diploma in above streams may also apply.

·         Having leadership experience at a senior management/executive
level, preferentially within the NGO or public sector; having practical
experience in one or more of the following functional areas: child and/or
youth care, community development, human resource management, psychology,
education

·         Good physical and mental health

·         Readiness to live within an SOS Children’s Village

·         Willingness to make a long-term commitment

·         Strong interest in working with children and youths

·        Excellent skills and expertise in HR/HRD; ability of strategic
thinking, planning and budgeting; financial management skills; basic
knowledge in fundraising and marketing; network-based way of thinking

·        Excellent knowledge and skills of Pedagogical and psychological,
basic comprehension of child, youth and family development

·        Excellent knowledge of national child welfare and child care
legislation, familiar with and aware of children’s rights and child
protection,

·        Capability to promote child and youth activities

·        Experience in cooperating with local and national child and youth
care projects of governmental and NGO initiatives

·        Intercultural, gender and diversity sensitivity, respects and
appreciates different cultures, religions and social backgrounds and is
capable of a gender sensitive approach

·        Emphatic and active listener

·        Excellent skills of Community development and facilitation

·        Capability for participative approaches

·        Excellent skills Monitoring and evaluation

·        Hands-on computer software skills

·        Good presentation and project management skills

·        Knowledge of English
