Position – ARREST Program Officer - Indonesia
Job Purpose:
Accomplish project objectives by
coordinating and assisting with the planning and implementation of FREELAND
Foundation activities throughout Indonesia.
Location:
This position will be basedat the
International Criminal Investigation Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) US
Department of Justice (USDoJ) office in Jakarta and will require international
travel and domestic travel in Indonesia.
Contract Period:
One (1) year full time position after
satisfactory completing a three (3) month probation period.
Scope:
The full scope of work is centered on Indonesia and includes
coordinating and participating in all events scheduled for Indonesia by
FREELAND Foundation. This will involve coordination of law enforcement
training, public awareness and media programs as directed by the FREELAND
Foundation head office in Bangkok, Thailand. The position will also entail
liaison with the Indonesian government counter-parts, USAID and ICITAP.
Translation of training material and public awareness material will also be an
important function of this position. The position entails coordinating and
assisting in the provisions of administrative and logistical. The position also
entails reporting accurate information on activities for use in press releases
to be issued by the communications team of FREELAND Foundation.
Duties:
1. Translation of documents from Bahasa Indonesia
to English and English to Bahasa Indonesia. These will mainly include but are not restricted to:
a. Training course reference materials such as
FREELAND Foundation produced manuals and specified national laws.
b. Training aid materials such as Electronic
Presentation and trainee handout brochures;
c. Lesson Plans; and
d. Training Package materials, as delegated;
e. Public Awareness and Media Campaign
materials
2. Act as an interpreter to FREELAND
Foundation designated personnel in support of FREELAND Foundation sponsored or
approved activities. This may include
but not restricted too:
a. Meetings,
b. Training courses,
c. Other official events.
3. Liaise with government ministerial and
official departments to coordinate FREELAND Foundation sponsored and approved
activities. These may include the but
are not restricted to:
a. Ministry of Forestry, Department of
Forestry Investigation and Protection
b. Indonesian National Police Departments
c. US Embassy, USAID, US Department of
Justice, ICITAP
d. ASEAN Secretariat
e. National Parks Directors or their
representatives
4. Represent FREELAND Foundation in meetings
and planning groups with the aforementioned departments and officials in
support of FREELAND Foundation sponsored or approved activities. Communicate
meeting output in written or verbal form and conduct approved written or verbal
meeting follow-ups. As required, provide written summaries for implemented
program in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
5. Report to and assist the FREELAND
Foundation Communications team in implementing public awareness events in
Indonesia
6. Support FREELAND Foundation out of country
personnel during their duty stay in Indonesia. This can be but not limited to:
a. Finding short term accommodation
b. Reliable transport
c. Purchase of equipment
d. Training/Seminar Venues as directed by the
Director of Field Operations
7. Finance and administration duties/ function
a. Manage FREELAND bank account in Indonesia
b. Manage petty cash, compile basic petty cash
reports
c. Liaise between bank and the finance
division of FREELAND in Bangkok for operational and audit purposes
d. Manage FREELAND office inventory in Indonesia
e. Assist in travel logistics for FREELAND
program stakeholders as per FREELAND rules
Work Environment:
1. Office - Work environment will be open
office at ICITAP Indonesia
2. Field - During training courses is to work
in the field and tropical forest environment regardless of season, weather or
terrain.
Working Hours:
1. Office - The incumbent is expended to work
a minimum of 8 hours per day with weekends and public holidays off during
normal office period.
2. Field – While working on training courses
the incumbent is expected to work as per the training schedule. This includes
working on public holidays and weekends. Work hours are normally a minimum of
10-12 hours per day.
3. Due to the importance of this position it
is expected that the incumbent works extra hours to ensure that tasks are
completed in a timely fashion and in accordance with deadline.
