Save the Children International Vacancy : Fundraising and Marketing Sr. Manager (code: FMSR), based in Jakarta (Recruitment.Indonesia@savethechildren.org)

Save the Children is an international non-profit organization that focuses on the fulfillment of children’s right. Save the Children was first established in May 1919 in the U.K. and to date has 28 Save the Children Offices and operations in more than 120 countries worldwide. in 1976, Save the Children signed an MoU with the Ministry of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, followed then by the operations of Save the Children throughout Indonesia. Currently, Save the Children work in 11 provinces with a variety of program areas, such as: Education, Health and Sanitation, Livelihood, Child Protection also Disaster Risk Reduction.


Save the Children is committed in conducting its programs in a way that is safe for children beneficiaries and to help protect children with whom Save the Children in a relationship. As a humanitarian organization, Save the Children is obliged to create and maintain an environment to prevent any sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children as well as to promote the implementation of child safety policies.

Now, we are looking for a position of :

FUNDRAISING AND MARKETING SENIOR MANAGER (code: FMSR-JKT), 1 position, based in Jakarta

As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Fundraising and Marketing Sr. Manager shares in the overall responsibility for the direction and coordination of the Country Office. The Sr. Manager in his/ her capacity is responsible to deliver a highly ambitious market entry strategy focusing on building unrestricted income from the private sector (individuals and corporate). Key elements of the strategy will include:

  *   Testing and diversifying acquisition streams (F2F, Tele-calling, DRTV, Online)
  *   Developing best in class donor retention and communication programs
  *   Building a culture of innovative
  *   Mentoring future leaders and developing the capacity of the local fundraising team

Reports to: Country Director and Save the Children International (SCI) Member Growth Project Manager

Over the course of 2014 the Fundraising and Marketing Senior Manager (FMSM) will recruit and manage up to 4 direct reports: F2F Coordinator, Other Acquisition Coordinator, Donor Development Officer, Corporate / Major Gifts Manager.

Other Reporting and Coordination Responsibilities:  The Manager is a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and is expected to contribute and work in close cooperation with other SMT members and relevant Save the Children staff outside the country.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Fundraising and Marketing Senior Manager contributes to:

•         Leadership of the Indonesia Country Office.

•         Support the development of an organisational culture that reflects our dual mandate values (development programs and humanitarian response), promotes accountability and high performance, encourages a team culture of learning, creativity and innovation, and frees up our people to deliver outstanding results for children and excellent customer service for our Members and donors.

•         Help design and implement a coherent organizational structure that is consistent with agency practices and appropriate to program needs.

•         Help establish, maintain, and improve active and regular working relationships with: host government authorities, corporate and individual donors, and partner agencies including humanitarian and development donors, and local and international NGOs.

•         Ensure Indonesia Country Office complies with all Save the Children Management Operating Standards and Standard Operating Procedures.

•         Ensure that all required support is provided promptly, at scale and in line with the rules and principles during emergencies.

Fundraising and Marketing

•         Work with the Country Director and SCI Project Manager to develop overall medium and long-term fundraising targets for each sector (corporate, individual and high value donors) aligned to the overall strategic direction of the organisation

•         Develop and manage a multi-channel fundraising programs and strategies including committed giving (face to face and digital), foundations, corporations, major gifts, events and planned giving to deliver on fundraising income targets

•         Develop and manage a best in class donor servicing function with responsibility for the correct processing of donor payments

•         Build solid prospect management, research and donor stewardship programs to support the growth of revenue generated fundraising

•         Oversee back end systems and processes to support all aspects of fund development; develop tools for tracking fundraising revenue and donor prospects.

•         Ensure the effective development, management and monitoring of the Department’s annual budget. Track financial and program performance through regular monthly reporting including revenue/expense and budget controls

•         Build successful long-term relationships with donors, volunteers and other key stakeholders.

•         Represent and promote Save the Children with enthusiasm and professionalism, building and strengthening relationships with key donors, funders and prospects, and the media as appropriate

•         Lead the field of fundraising and philanthropy, monitoring trends to ensure Save the Children benefits from current knowledge, resources and techniques

•         Infuse the culture of fundraising  into all Save the Children’s activities

•         Provide oversight for the content development and production of publications and online materials including, quarterly and annual reports, newsletters, briefings, releases to increase awareness of Save the Children throughout Indonesia

•         Ensure Save the Children Indonesia website is up to date and serves the organisation and is able to receive and process donations

•         Represent Save the Children and as necessary in relevant forums, conferences and public events.

•         As required liaise with external stakeholders; including government, donors, partners etc.


Staff Management, Mentorship, and Development

•         Ensure appropriate staffing within Fundraising and Marketing department

•         Ensure that all staff understand and are able to perform their role in an emergency

•         Manage Fundraising and Marketing team; define expectations, provide leadership and technical support as needed, and evaluate direct reports regularly

•         Ensure the recruitment, training, and promotion of staff as appropriate and ensure availability of appropriate professional development opportunities for staff

  *   Incorporate staff development strategies and Performance Management Systems into team building process. Establish result based system and follow up.
  *   Manage the performance of all staff in the Human Resources work area through:

     *   Effective use of the Performance Management System including the establishment of clear, measureable objectives, ongoing feedback, periodic reviews and fair and unbiased evaluations;
     *   Coaching, mentoring and other developmental opportunities;
     *   Recognition and rewards for outstanding performance;
     *   Documentation of performance that is less than satisfactory, with appropriate performance improvements/ work plans.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Skill

  *   A minimum of 5 years of management experience in a corporate or an NGO environment, including experience in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans through a number of planning cycles
  *   An academic qualification in fundraising, marketing or communications is preferable.
  *   Ability to use numbers to support all fundraising decisions
  *   Strong business acumen and the ability to develop, communicate and implement brand, fundraising and communication strategies
  *   Excellent experience of computerized accounts packages, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  *   Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  *   Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines
  *   Ability to build a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support and advice as necessary
  *   Willingness and ability to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies
  *   Written and verbal fluency in English and Indonesian

Experience and Knowledge

  *   Experience of development and execution of fundraising strategy including corporate sector fundraising , mass market individual and high value donors
  *   A marketing and fundraising generalist with proven track record in developing fundraising plans which lead to increased revenue. Emphasis on mass-market fundraising and securing corporate partnerships
  *   Experience in implementing donor stewardship strategies
  *   Previous experience working with fundraising databases
  *   A full appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a team environment
  *   Understanding of Save the Children vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives, values and essential standards
