Chief of Party, Indonesia

Background:  The purpose of PRESTASI (means “achievement” in Indonesian) is to improve the performance and leadership skills of Indonesian professionals which, in turn, will help to promote development in Indonesia. Specifically, PRESTASI provides training and technical services required to strengthen and expand the base of skilled, high-performing professionals and institutions in Indonesia’s public and private sector.

Responsibilities:The Chief of Party (COP) will be based in Jakarta and will be responsible for oversight of project activities to ensure quality work and compliance with contractual obligations and results. S/he will be responsible for overall project management and impacts, external representation and coordination with USAID, project partners and stakeholders and other project implementers. The COP should have experience in Training and Capacity Development Programs including expertise in Participant Training.



Qualifications: The COP will have the following minimum set of qualifications:

    At least 6 years of work experience related to participant training programs with 4 of those 6 years in a managerial or team leader capacity is preferred. S/he must have at least 2 years of first-hand overseas work experience.
    Proven leadership in and significant international experience leading capacity development programs that involved the collaborative design, implementation and subsequent expansion and replication of project activities.
    A demonstrated commitment to addressing challenges of higher education reform in

developing countries.

    Proven leadership and effectiveness in the administration of similar size international donor technical assistance projects, including demonstrated skills and success in strategic planning, management, supervision and budgeting.
    Evidence of strong communication skills, both interpersonal and written, to fulfill the diverse technical and managerial requirements of the contract.
    An advanced graduate degree or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent work experience is

required.

    Proficiency in speaking and writing in the English language is required; proficiency in

Bahasa Indonesia is also preferred.

    Knowledge of Indonesian higher education challenges, opportunities and issues preferred
