GIZ Vacancy - Finance Professional for RE Programme

Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is the German International Cooperation implementing sustainable development on behalf of the German Government.


GIZ has a record of more than 20 years of involvement in renewable energy (RE) in Indonesia. Starting from rural electrification and mini hydropower, the portfolio expanded to other renewable energies and larger grid connected systems such as biomass/biogas and photovoltaics.
GIZ in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) and the ASEAN Centre for Energy is presently implementing four projects:

Renewable Energy Support Programme for ASEAN (ASEAN - RESP),
Energizing Development Indonesia (EnDev ID)
Promotion of Least Cost Renewables in Indonesia (LCORE),
Project Development Programme Renewable Energy Indonesia (PEP Indonesia),

GIZ seeks a qualified Indonesian candidate for the Finance Professional position in the RE Programme.

A.     Responsibilities
The Finance Professional is responsible for

    ensuring that financial administration functions well in accordance with GIZ standard procedures
    petty cash and bank payments of the LCORE project
    cash management and monthly budget planning of the LCORE project
    monitoring of the Third party receivables of the LCORE project
    coordinating the cashiers in the RE projects
    Managing the consultant contracts of the LCORE project


The Finance Professional performs the following tasks:

B.     Tasks
1.      Financial Management

    Monitors income, expenditure and the monthly bank reconciliation
    Monitors the cash holdings of the LCORE project
    Monitors and follow up the third party receivables of the LCORE project.
    Processes petty cash transactions.
    Processes bank transactions for the LCORE project below 2,500 Euro.


2.      Accounting

    Keeps the cashbook and bankbook of the LCORE project
    Ensures that all vouchers of the LCORE project are delivered to the GIZ Office Accountant before the agreed deadline


3.      Consultancy

    Manages the processing of contracts up to 2,500 Euro and advises technical staff about the administrative requirements.
    Keeps filing and an overview of all contracts according to GIZ rules and regulations.
    Especially ensures that the contracts drawn in the project (up to 2,500 Euro) have a complete contract file.


4.      Other duties/additional tasks

    Reports all problems with financial administration and compliance without delay.
    Responsible for filing in accordance with GIZ rules for the related working area.
    Overtime calculation of supporting staff
    Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.


C.     Required qualifications, competences and experience
Qualifications

    BA in accounting and auditing or similar area


Professional experience
§  at least 3 years’ professional experience in a comparable position

Other knowledge, additional competences

    in-depth knowledge of accounting software
    good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
    confidential handling of data and information
    very good knowledge of the European language widely used in the country, ideally a knowledge of German
