MAMPU RECRUITMENT
The Empowering Indonesian Women for Poverty Reduction Program or
Maju Perempuan Indonesia untuk Penanggulangan Kemiskinan (MAMPU)
Program is funded by the Australian Government through the Department of
Foreign Affairs and Trade – Australian Aid. The MAMPU Program supports
networks and inclusive coalitions of women’s
and gender-interested organisations, and parliamentarians (the MAMPU
partners) to influence government policies, regulations and services,
and in selected private sector arenas. Ultimately, this work aims to
improve the access of poor women in Indonesia to
critical services and programs. MAMPU Program is currently seeking the
following position:
Position : Database Management Officer
Location : Jakarta
Report to: Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
Duration : 2 years (with possible extension)
Purpose
The
purpose of the Database Management Officer is to ensure that data on
program progress and operations is stored, managed, and can be made
available to other members of the MAMPU core team, in an efficient and
timely manner.
Responsibility
The
Database Management Officer will have primary responsibility for
collecting, storing and managing crucial information on program
operations
and outcomes. This includes ensuring that information on MAMPU’s
partner organisations is up to date and can be easily retrieved and that
the progress of research activities is effectively tracked and the
findings can be easily accessed. The Database Management
Officer will also have a role in shaping how this information is
collated and summarized to better meet the needs of information users
within the MAMPU team. The role will also involve some interface with
MAMPU’s partner organisations where particular information
requirements need to be clarified or explained.
Description
The
Database Management Officer will work collaboratively and creatively as
part of a dynamic team to ensure that planning, monitoring, reporting
and learning within the MAMPU program is based on sound platform of
information. Build on your knowledge of technical database design and
maintenance to shape how information is summarized and presented to
users for maximum impact. Join a team dedicated to
improving the lives and welfare of poor Indonesian women and helping
partner organization to achieve positive change.
Work
with the M&E Specialist and short-term Database Design Specialist
to shape the design of a comprehensive and simple-to-use database
for the MAMPU program. Collate and store information from a variety of
sources to ensure the database remains current. Retrieve information in
response to requests for information and summarise data to ensure that
it meets the needs of information users.
You will have:
Technical
competence with a range of data and information management software
packages including Microsoft ACCESS and an interest in how
information is used. You will have a customer-oriented approach to
information management and an interest in working to support social
change.
Tasks
1.
Consolidating key
descriptive information on partner projects including short-, medium-,
and long-term outcomes, themes, number of sub partners, geographic
locations,
and target groups;
2.
Regularly updating descriptive information on partner projects on the program database;
3.
Collating progress
information from MAMPU partner progress reports and ensuring this
information is stored appropriately on the MAMPU database;
4.
With the M&E
Specialist, liaising with the Capacity Development Coordinator,
Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist, and the Finance and
Grants Manager to
ensure that their information needs are met;
5.
Ensuring that information on the operations of the Managing Contractor is routinely stored and retrieved on request;
6.
Collating, summarizing, and reporting information to support 6-monthly and annual reporting to AusAID.
Experience, Expertise & other Requirements
§
At least 5 years experience in database design and maintenance;
§
Experience
developing reporting database entry and reporting formats and working
with information users to tailor these to requirements;
§
Able to manage
multiple demands and prioritize tasks, work easily and cooperatively
with diverse stakeholders, and support other team members.
§
Proactive in taking
responsibility, maintaining professional standards, and contributing
ideas to improving existing database management and maintenance
practices and
reporting;
§
Skilled in a range of database software packages including Microsoft Access and Excel;
§
Fluent Indonesian and English.
