PROGRAM MANAGER (Based in Jakarta with
frequent visit to field project)
Job
Summary:
To
support the Country Director in delivering programmes in line with Muslim
Aid’s global vision and strategy. Manage and monitor all program components –
training, technical assistance and assure the overall project is meeting
proposed objectives and targets.
Essential duties
& Responsibilities:
This
position is responsible for assisting the CD in guiding the development of
integrated strategic direction for all MAI programs; for supporting program
teams to achieve agreed goals by supervising and evaluating all Program
Coordinators, coordinating performance-based annual program plans and
budgets, strengthening monitoring, evaluating and reporting, and helping
teams build effective program partnerships with private, public and
governmental organizations; and leading the development of new programs in
all MAI service areas.
This position also builds funding relationships and partnerships and leads program teams in doing the same; represents MAI in various NGO and governmental networks as well as at donor.
The successful candidate will:
§ A first
university degree or equivalent expertise gained through relevant
professional experience;
§ Have at the least 7 years experience in development project as well as
emergency response and rehabilitation experience with good negotiation/
networking skill. This should
include a mature understanding of relevant
issues derived from field experience, in both in relief and development;
§ Have at
least five years experience in a senior management role with proven
experience of programme or complex management including managing budgets,
staff, funding of the programme, project planning and management;
§ Proven
experience of drafting and writing project documents or proposals;
§ Have
proven experience as a team worker and demonstrably co-operative with members
of other teams;
§ Have
experience in dealing with projects involving international agencies and
institutions;
§ Experience
in an organisation with an international focus;
§ Knowledge
or experience of NGOs and UN system.
Skills/Knowledge
§ Have
excellent communication and interpersonal skill
§ Good IT
skills, proficient in Word, Excel and other programs
§
Show flexibility and adaptability.
Willingness to travel as required
§
Have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
§ Have
strong analytical skills and ability to think and plan strategically
