ACF Vacancies - Kupang/NTT base

ACF IMMEDIATE VACANCIES

Founded in 1979, ACF International (Action Against Hunger) is an international humanitarian organization that delivers programs in over 40 countries.
Recognized worldwide as a leader in the fight against hunger, our mission is to save lives through the prevention, detection, and treatment of malnutrition, especially during and after emergency situations and conflicts.


ACF has been active in the NTT district since 2007. Around 40 networks have benefited from a renovation, as have water sources and wells. In the Kupang District, ACF has only been active since 2011. The district's needs are still considerable, particularly as the number of stakeholders is lower than the neighbouring TTS district.  Moreover, ACF have been launched a Nutrition program in Kupang and WASH initiatives will be implemented in the same sub-districts in order to strengthen the nutritional program's impact.

As the program is now starting the implementation, we are currently looking for  2 qualified candidates to fill the position of
1. WaSH Field Monitor
2. Food Security and Livelihoods Field Worker
Initial Contract duration : 6 months (with possibility of extension)

1. WASH Field Monitor  (1 position)
Reporting to : WASH Supervisor
Starting date : ASAP
Educational / Professional Background: Diploma / Level of studies :
Professional Certificate (CAP) or professional experience in Community Based Management (CBM) and Participative Health and Hygiene Promotion (PHHP)

Key Assignment: Ensure the sustainability of ACF the WASH project and build local capacities to self manage the water systems after project completion.
Main Objectives :
Follow up Water Committees (WC) from former ACF WASH Projects:
ü  Meetings coordination ;
ü  Monitors the implementation and adjustment of water fees, local management rule and facilitates the process to update and change them
ü  He/she may train, asked by WCs, on proposal writing to get local grants from the government (to extend and/or repair facilities)

Standardize and coordinate O&M procedures together with the WC and local authorities :
ü  Organizes and implements  training updates of WC
ü  Monitors the work of the committees in the field, the maintenance of water points ;
ü  Settles routines and procedures for daily O&M
ü  Makes sure the community approach is integrated in the project’s other sectors ;
ü  Writes weekly activity plans and reports for the Supervisor
ü  Participates in the weekly team meetings.

Data collection about WC and facilities:
ü  Collects data about WC and facilities
ü  Follow up disruptions on water supply and identifies possible solutions and alternatives.
ü  Feeds back the WASH Supervisor to trigger policy making and implementation, about ruling, water fees, O&M, etc.


2. Food Security and Livelihoods Field Worker (1 position).
Reporting to : Food Security and Livelihoods Program Manager
Starting date : ASAP

Diploma/ Level of studies:  Diploma or Bachelor in Agriculture sciences/social sciences

Required skills:
•          Experience working with agriculture, organic farming, livestock, within community setting
•          Good communication skills
•          Previous experiences working in humanitarian organizations/context
•          Understanding of local context (community behaviour)

Main Objectives:
•          Organize training sessions on FS
•          Be in charge of assisting the farmer and livestock groups
•          Doing liaison and coordination with other stakeholders at village and sub-district level
•          90%  travel and live in project areas (villages and sub-districts)
Others: Knowledge about Dawan language is beneficial

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES and SKILLS  for both positions :

    Competence in training organisation and implementing participative approaches  – Scheduling of activities – Good organizational ability – Good knowledge of the intervention area – Dynamism – Flexibility – Computer skills – Knowledge of English and local languages – Motorbike driving license and riding experience.
    INGO/Humanitarian experiences, ability to work in team, good interpersonal communication and skills, able to work and spend time in the project sites
