SCI seeks Sr. Project Officer - Literacy Boost to be based in Kupang

Save the Children is a leading, private child-focused non-governmental alliance of 29 member organizations that works in 120 countries throughout the world.  Save the Children has worked in Indonesia since 1976 to promote health and nutrition, education, child protection, livelihoods, and emergency preparedness and response.  The Hempel-funded ‘Literacy Boost’ project has the goal of improving the quality of literacy outcomes for early grade primary school students in public primary schools in Kupang, NTT.  The project will mobilize communities and schools to improve literacy outcomes for students in grades 1-3.  It is designed to cover 20 schools for an initial period of three year.


Now we are looking for a position of:
Senior Project Officer – Literacy Boost, 1 position, based in Kupang (code: SPOLB-Kupang)

The Senior Project Officer Literacy Boost will be responsible for overall project management and implementation of all activities in target schools, maintain good relationship with local government and other stakeholders in Kupang, NTT district. S/he will be responsible for the financial, programmatic implementation and monitoring of all project activities, and the development of the project work plan.  S/he will ensure that all activities included in the implementation plan are implemented and literacy outcomes are assessed.  S/he will also produce information to the Jakarta office for programmatic reports. S/he will supervise admin and finance to support program activities. S/he will report to the Project Coordinator and be supported by a small finance and administration team in Kupang, NTT.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
·         Ensure that the Literacy Boost program in Kupang has an accurate and complete implementation plan  
·         All donor reporting is timely submitted with a high quality, includes evidence-based impact
·         Ensure that all activities in target districts are implemented according to the implementation plan and achieve intended objectives.       
·         Implement strong levels of community and teacher commitment in the project.
·         Actively engage the district education authorities and other stakeholders (teachers, principals, community members, school supervisors, and children) to support literacy boost project implementation   
·         Budget allocated for activities is well-managed, spent on time, and reported according to SCI regulations and guidelines

QUALIFICATION
Essential
·         Bachelors University Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
·         At least 4 years work experience with non-government organizations, at least some experience in managing education projects
Desirable
  • At least 4 years experience in education programs with international NGOs.
