Job Description

Social Protection Knowledge Collaboration Events


DFAT has established the Social Protection Hub, a unit within DFAT comprising social protection specialists based in Canberra and in Jakarta.


A central activity of the Hub is development of a suite of knowledge collaboration events to improve policy and strategy development in partner countries. The knowledge events will be designed to promote a common understanding of social protection concepts and rationale. They will be tailored to the needs of the participants and focus on topics at the forefront of partner governments’ agenda. This request requires assistance in preparation of these five events.



Experience & Qualifications



HTSPE is looking for a Senior Social Protection Specialist to nominate in their bid for the above project. The following are required:



    Extensive knowledge of social protection and significant experience working in Asia with an understanding of the Latin American experience.
    Preferably previous working experience in Indonesia in the context of social protection
    Ability to use learning events to deliver complex concepts and technical information to an audience developing their capacity in social protection.
    Demonstrated experience engaging with or have linkages to key government and non-government stakeholders
    Preferably, demonstrated experience with DFAT Australian Aid Program’s reporting requirements.



Other Information:



The assignment is due to start in February 2014 for a period of 25 working days.
