Program Summary
TANGGUH II (Taruna Bangga Usaha) is the second phase of a program that aims to increase the capacity of youth in the area of Bojonegoro to be economically productive and serve as civic leaders and agents of positive change. The program will work with youth to improve their entrepreneurship skills, assist them to launch their own enterprises and increase youth participation in civic life in their communities. The program will also build capacity of local MFIs in order to enable them to accommodate the needs of young entrepreneurs.
 
1. Project Manager – Tangguh II
The Project Manager for TANGGUH II will lead the overall implementation of project activities in the Bojonegoro area. The work will also include donor relationship management, advocacy to local government to ensure sustainability and expansion of activities as needed. S/he will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed effectively and in alignment with the project proposal, the project budget and the grant agreement. S/he will be responsible for assessing the effectiveness and impact of program activities on participants through direct supervision, pre- and post-surveys, participant interviews, etc and for solving problems to ensure continuous improvements.
 
Qualifications:
  • University degree, preferable in a related field;
  • 3+ years working on development projects with strong emphasis in economic development, youth development and community mobilization;
  • Proven project management, including financial/budget management skills;
  • Experience in building, training, motivating and managing a team;
  • Strong writing skills, both in English and in Bahasa Indonesian, including demonstrated ability to write quality reports.
  • Experience with Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E).
  • Extensive knowledge of local context (local resident of Bojonegoro or East Java in general is highly preferable).
  • Computer literate, familiar with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and internet.
2. Economic Development Project Officer – Tangguh II
The Economic Development Project Officer will be primarily responsible for overseeing the economic development component of the program which focusses on business development of youth through training and coaching and capacity building of local MFIs and cooperatives. The officer will ensure all activities are prepared and conducted up to quality standards and based on field assessments and careful participant selection. He/she will ensure continuous monitoring of progress and evaluation of impact of program activities under his/her responsibility. Finally, he/she will collaborate productively with TANGGUH team members, program partners and beneficiaries and contribute to an optimal program dynamic and working environment.
 
Qualifications:
  • University degree, preferable in a related field;
  • 2+ years working on development projects with strong emphasis in economic/business development;
  • Experience and expertise in financial literacy and business development training;
  • Ability to evaluate and advise on business plans;
  • Experience with microfinance projects;
  • Previous experience with youth projects is an advantage;
  • Extensive knowledge of local context (resident of Bojonegoro or East Java highly preferable).
