USAID Indonesia Clean Energy Development (ICED) Project

ICED is a bilateral technical assistance program to support the Government of Indonesia in developing sustainable renewable energy resources and reducing greenhouse gases emission from conventional fossil fuel sources.  ICED was initiated in March 2011 and runs through September 2014.  ICED technical assistance is implemented primarily through (i) energy policy reform support to selected national and local Government counterparts to overcome barriers to deployment of clean energy technologies, (ii) capacity building and trainings for local banks and financial institutions regarding the conduct of due diligence evaluation of proposed renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, and (iii) technical, legal and financial advisory services to project sponsors, industrial and agricultural hosts.

Scope of Work

Objective

This video aims to showcase the technical procedure of an anaerobic digestion system that can be applied in POME, covering the process of Mills Effluent resulted from the Palm Oil Production until the process of electricity generation with all components that need to be installed.

Audience

Primary audience: the ISPO auditors’ responsible to conduct the assessment for ISPO certification.

Secondary audience: the person in charge of POME and Palm Oil production process in all plantations.

Length

The video is expected to have duration of 7-8 minutes.

Methodologies

ü  The video production must be guided by a script and a storyboard that will be initially developed and provided by ICED. This rough story board will describe the flow of topics, component to be shot, people to interview and detail 3D animation that need to be produced. The story board and the script will open to discuss with the consultant, for necessary adjustment

ü  The video shall include the following content:

o   An opening, with the title and USAID identity

o   An overview of Palm Oil Plantation

o   The illustration production process with focusing on the POME as the by-product

o   The illustration of types of methane capture system that can be applied in a Palm Oil Plantation

o   The overview of Biogas facility (may use 3D animation)

o   The detail of Biogas process (may use 3D animation)

o   Interview with the management of Biogas plantation/Palm Oil Plantation Management

ü  Creative combinations of interviews, footages, format and the use of graph, graphic, animation in documenting demining related topics is highly appreciated

ü  The video will have narration in Bahasa Indonesia

Deliverables/Output

Based on the scope of work, an 8 minutes long video on Methane Capture Process, upon receiving written satisfaction from Task 3, will be completed and delivered to USAID ICED.

Institutional Arrangement

The Communication Advisor, assisted by Communication, Capacity Building, and Research Coordinator, will have the overall supervision of the contractor’s day-to-day performance to ensure it fully complies with the terms of the contract.

Monitoring, Progress Controls and Payment Milestones

Final written script with adjustment	20%, to be made 7 days after the submission
Final production with sub-titles and 10 copies of video	70%, to be made 7 days after the submission

 

Minimum Qualifications Requirement

Consultant Education	Minimum Bachelor Degree in Media and Management and/or Social Management or Engineering Field, or Agency experience working in Video production field
Experience	Minimum 2 years of video production
Competencies	ü General Knowledge of Clean Energy Field, or have experience in the video production related to Clean Energy Topic ü Proven ability to produce quality video in a short period of time ü Capacity to clearly develop the vision for the video (narration, interview, etc.) ü Creativity in packaging narration, and interview into a final product ü Capacity to select a relevant pictures as necessary, and understand the issue and principles of copy right
Language Requirement	Bahasa Indonesia, but fluently speaking English is an advantage
