SOCIAL AUDITOR
Fishing & Living, Indonesia is the
CSR program of an internationally renowned Seafood Company, Anova Food, LLC. F&L
is based in Denpasar, Bali and aims to support the sustainability of Indonesian
fisheries, specifically tuna fisheries. Additionally the program strives to
ensure that the communities which are reliant on these fisheries are also
developed and supported with an aim to creating a consistent and prosperous
future for them. Activities towards sustainability include data collection
programs, community engagement, development of co-management initiatives and
implementation of activities towards Fisheries Improvement Programs (FIPs).
With regard to community development, activities focus on awareness programs,
alternative livelihood developments and general community improvements.
Due to an increasing growth in the
awareness surrounding the maintenance and implementation of social standards
for the people and communities involved in the fisheries supply chains,
especially in the developing world and due to an increase in the demand for
responsibly sourced products in the international market, Fishing & Living
are seeking to employ a social standards auditor. Through this position
we want to bring about the increase in more ethically produced and
sourced seafood within Indonesia and the wider region and by doing this
improving the lives of millions of people active in this sector.
F&L aims to work closely with a
wide range of processors and supply chain partners to begin to broach the topic
of social standard implementation, including tackling aspects of the wide range
of obstacles which this specific industry faces.
Where:
Based in Bali, with regular travel to sites throughout Indonesia

Requirements:
Minimum degree in Arts, Social Development, Sociology with a minimum of 2 years
industry/research experience.
The applicant should additionally meet the following
requirements:
- Experience
and confidence in scoping and planning an audit
- Good
reporting abilities, to critically report on an audit, using common auditing
formats
- Communicate clearly and confidently with all the parties in
an appropriate language, particularly regarding information needs and market
demand
- Ability
to conduct interviews skillfully and objectively
- Ability
to determine the credibility of information
- Ability to communicate well with management and hence
ensure buy-in and ensure improvements and changes which are necessary for
compliance
- Be
open-minded, reasonable and objective

Be proficient in the use of computers
(Microsoft office, email at a minimum)
- Have ability to communicate well in varied situations (with
fishermen in rural Indonesian landing sites, within large processing
facilities, with government officials)
- Have experience in dealing with various departments of
government either related to fisheries, export, labor laws or environmental
standards
The additional requirements are not
essential but would be a bonus to the applicant:
- Knowledge on sustainability
- Indepth
knowledge of various social standards such as BSCI, SA8000
- Have access to a network of stakeholders within the seafood
auditing sector in Indonesia and the wider region
