Swisscontact ( <http://www.swisscontact.ch> www.swisscontact.ch), the Swiss
non-profit organisation engaged in co-operation for private sector
development, will implement the Regional Tourism Development Program -
WISATA Phase II as part of the Indonesian Swiss Development Cooperation. The
program aims at increasing competitiveness of selected tourism destination
in order to create income and job opportunities for the local population in
the tourism sector.


Open Position

For program activities in Toraja, South Sulawesi Swisscontact is looking for
enthusiastic and independent professionals in the following field of
expertise:

General requirements:

- Team player with strong communicational, interpersonal and
organizational skills;

- Good command of written and spoken English, excellent computer skills
(MS office)

- University degree in relevant field of study (those lacking the stated
educational requirements but having an excellent track record are encouraged
to apply);

- Interest in development work and eco-tourism;

- Excellent work ethic, self-starter and flexibility in schedule

- Willing to relocate to Toraja, South Sulawesi

Junior Destination Office Manager

Main task: Managing field office in Toraja incl. administration and
accounting, responsible for timely implementation of project activities to
strengthen local destination management in Toraja, incl. progress monitoring
of and reporting. Relationship management between the private sector, public
institutions and the Destination Management Organisation.

Requirements: Experience of at least 5 years in project management, team
leadership, organizational development and reporting in English; Work
experience in tourism planning and development and hands on practical
business knowledge; Ability to manage multiple interventions; Experience in
small business development and income generation and in dealing with local
and national government authorities.

Program Officer for SME Development

Main task: Assist local vocational tourism schools (SMKs) to improve their
skills training and support local professional associations to conduct
capacity building of local tourism businesses to improve the quality of
services; Relationship management between the private sector, public
institutions and the Destination Management Organisation.

Requirements: At least 5 years experiences in tourism businesses (hotel,
tour operator etc.), strong interpersonal skills, pro-active, assertiveness.

Program Officer for Community Development

Main task: Assist local communities in CBT to improve their internal
organisation and services to offer their cultural environment to the tourism
sector; support and qualify local farmer groups and handicrafts producers
through capacity building to improve the variety and quality of their
products and link them to the local tourism market.

Requirements: At least 5 years experiences in development work with
communities (farmer groups, cultural villages), strong interpersonal skills,
pro-active, assertiveness.
