Swisscontact Wisata Job Vacancy in Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi

Swisscontact ( <http://www.swisscontact.ch> www.swisscontact.ch), the Swiss
non-profit organisation engaged in co-operation for private sector
development, will implement the Regional Tourism Development Program -
WISATA Phase II as part of the Indonesian Swiss Development Cooperation. The
program aims at increasing competitiveness of selected tourism destination
in order to create income and job opportunities for the local population in
the tourism sector.


Open Position

For program activities in Wakatobi, South East Sulawesi Swisscontact is
looking for enthusiastic and independent professionals in the following
field of expertise:

General requirements:

- Team player with strong communicational, interpersonal and
organizational skills;

- Good command of written and spoken English, excellent computer skills
(MS office)

- University degree in relevant field of study (those lacking the stated
educational requirements but having an excellent track record are encouraged
to apply);

- Interest in development work and eco-tourism;

- Excellent work ethic, self-starter and flexibility in schedule

- Willing to relocate to Wakatobi, South East Sulawesi

Program Officer for Destination Development and Marketing

Main task: Responsible to prepare attractive tourism objects and make
available high quality local Tourism info for regional and local promotion
purposes; provide to local stakeholders on the job training in tourism
attraction assessment and development; support local DMO to develop concept
and structure for a local Tourism Info Centers incl. responsibility and
operation of the info center.

In addition strengthen relationship between the private sector, public
institutions and the Destination Management Organisation.

Requirements: Experience of at least 3 years in tourism businesses
(preferable tour operator), strong interpersonal skills, pro-active,
assertiveness, willingness to work in remote areas. Having an interest in
photography will be advantage but not a must.

Program Officer for Destination Development

Main task: Responsible for skills training and capacity building of local
tourism associations and businesses to improve the quality of services;
support and qualify local handicrafts producers and farmer groups through
capacity building to improve the variety and quality of their products and
link them to the local tourism market.

In addition assist local communities in CBT to improve their internal
organisation and services to offer their cultural environment to the tourism
sector;

Requirements: At least 3 years experiences in tourism businesses (hotel,
tour operator etc.) and/or development work with communities (farmer groups,
small producers), strong interpersonal skills, pro-active, assertiveness.

Junior Program Administrator

Main task: General administration and bookkeeping

Requirements:. At least 2 years' experience in administration and
bookkeeping, good written and spoken English skills, ability to organize
daily tasks for timely delivery, team player
