Swisscontact ( <http://www.swisscontact.ch> www.swisscontact.ch), the Swiss
non-profit organisation engaged in co-operation for private sector
development, will implement the Regional Tourism Development Program -
WISATA Phase II as part of the Indonesian Swiss Development Cooperation. The
program aims at increasing competitiveness of selected tourism destination
in order to create income and job opportunities for the local population in
the tourism sector.
Open Position
For program activities in Central Kalimantan Swisscontact is looking for
enthusiastic and independent professionals in the following field of
expertise:
General requirements:
- Team player with strong communicational, interpersonal and
organizational skills;
- Good command of written and spoken English, excellent computer skills
(MS office)
- University degree in relevant field of study (those lacking the stated
educational requirements but having an excellent track record are encouraged
to apply);
- Interest in development work and eco-tourism;
- Excellent work ethic, self-starter and flexibility in schedule
- Willing to relocate to Tanjung Putting,Central Kalimantan
Program Officer for Destination Development and Marketing
Main task: Responsible to prepare attractive tourism objects and make
available high quality local Tourism info for regional and local promotion
purposes; provide to local stakeholders on the job training in tourism
attraction assessment and development; support local DMO to develop concept
and structure for a local Tourism Info Centers incl. responsibility and
operation of the info center.
In addition responsible for skills training and capacity building of local
tourism associations and businesses to improve the quality of services;
Relationship management between the private sector, public institutions and
the Destination Management Organisation.
Requirements: At least 3 years experiences in tourism businesses (preferable
tour operator), strong interpersonal skills, pro-active, assertiveness,
willingness to work in remote areas.
Program Officer for Destination Development
Main task: Assist local communities in CBT to improve their internal
organisation and services to offer their cultural environment to the tourism
sector; support and qualify local farmer groups and handicrafts producers
through capacity building to improve the variety and quality of their
products and link them to the local tourism market.
Requirements: At least 3 years experiences in development work with
communities (farmer groups, cultural villages), strong interpersonal skills,
pro-active, assertiveness, have experiences in business development will be
advantage but not a must.
Administrator
Main task:. General administration and bookkeeping
Requirements:. At least 2 years' experience in administration and
bookkeeping, good written and spoken English skills, ability to organize
daily tasks for timely delivery, team player
