USAID C4J Vacancy: Bookkepper

Chemonics International Inc. a leading international consulting firm, seeks an experienced, long-term, full-time Bookkeeper for a project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the Changes for Justice (C4J) Project. The primary objective of the C4J Project is to improve the performance of Indonesia’s justice system, a prerequisite for good governance and sustained economic growth.


Specific requirements
The C4J bookkeeper will have primary responsibility for assisting with all project bookkeeping tasks and performing basic financial functions. Detailed job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with the following:

§    Receive invoices from vendors, and manage and ensure timely payment by the project.
§    Prepare documentation for payment transactions, and ensure appropriate documentation and approvals.
§    Maintain the project’s accounting file system. Make sure that all vouchers are in order and completed properly.
§    Maintain the tax files for the project.
§    Prepare bank reconciliations.
§    Assist the finance team to prepare payroll for all local staff based in Jakarta.
§    Perform other general bookkeeping duties as needed and other duties as may be assigned by the Finance Manager.

Reporting

The Bookkeeper reports directly to the Finance Manager. He/She will prepare regular oral and written progress reports that demonstrate the status of project activities toward expected results, as well as other reports as required.

Qualifications

Excellent organizational and bookkeeping skills. Degree in finance, business administration, or comparable experience preferred. Minimum two years of experience as bookkeeper or finance office. Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently, with attention to detail.Proficiency in MS Office software including Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word, and with accounting software program. Knowledge of USAID policies, procedures, rules and regulations is an advantage.
