Save the Children needs 3 Consultants for IKEA Project that will cover area Bandung, Bandung Barat, kab. Bandung, Cimahi, Sumedang and Garut for the position of:
- Inclusive Education for improving Access, Quality and safe learning environment of Inclusive School through Advocacy framework 1 person, Code: <IKEA_1>
- Inclusive Education for improving education services and teaching-learning skills 2 person Code: <IKEA_2>
Inclusive education has been internationally recognized as a philosophy for attaining equity, justice and quality education for all children, especially those who have been traditionally excluded from mainstream education for reasons of disability, ethnicity, gender or other characteristics. While inclusive education has been implemented successfully in many countries, other countries are still in the process of achieving this goal. Save the Children Indonesia through IKEA Project has been running the facilitating family based care for children with disability since June 2012, there are 31 regular schools in 6 districts supported by the project.
Disability is defined by Law No. 20 / 2003 on the National Education System. Children with disability are described as handicapped children or “anak berkebutuhan khusus” which consist of children with visual, hearing, intellectual, physical handicap, social-emotional maladjusted, as well as children with giftedness and talented. The education provision for those children consists of special schools, integrated school as well as inclusive schools.
