Founded by President K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid on 7 September 2004. The Wahid Institute strives for a just and peaceful world and has become one of the leading voices espousing moderate and tolerant views of Islam in Southeast Asia.
VISION 
The Wahid Institute seeks to achieve the intellectual vision of H.E. Abdurrahman Wahid for the development of Indonesia, the welfare of the nation, and the social justice of humankind based on peaceful Islamic values that upholds pluralism, multiculturalism, democracy, and human rights.

MISSION
1.       Cultivating, maintaining and spreading the Islamic values of peace and tolerance.

Currently, we are looking for a professional candidate to fill in Executive Director (ED) position.
 
Position Descriptions:
 
 Executive Director (ED)
 
The Executive Director is responsible for managing an effective and efficient operations and program division of The Wahid Institute.
Qualification:
·         Bachelor or Master Degree in Economics, Management, Law or equivalent professional work experience.
·         Further studies or qualifications in pluralism, peace and conflict are desirable.
Experience:
·         Having extended experiences on program design.
·         Minimum 10 years experiences at managerial level in NGO or private sector.
Knowledge:
·         Knowledge on pluralism, peace and conflict and tolerance issues in Indonesia.
·         Knowledge of Government of Indonesia labour law.
·         Knowledge on program budgeting.
·         High level of competency using Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
·         Excellent English proficiency in both written and spoken English.
·         Arabic language ability is preferable.
