Be part of a dynamic working environment. We are recruiting Private Sector
Coordinator (under Economic Justice Programme) with a real commitment to
gender equality and overcoming poverty. This post will be based in Jakarta,
Indonesia for fixed term contract 12 months.

Role of Job Holder

Private Sector Coordinator will be responsible for the further development
and implementation of Oxfam’s engagement with the private sector in
Indonesia and contribute to the strengthening of the link between Indonesia
and the regional and global advocacy work. He/she will play an
instrumental part in achieving the planned objective 2 of the Economic
Justice program 2012 -2015: Fairer and more equitable market access for
poor men and women: improving social, economic and environmental
sustainability, assuring access to key natural resources like land and
water, labour conditions and respect for human rights in the private
sector, including value chains in key commodities with emphasis on palm
oil, cacao and shrimps. He /She will also work closely with the other
Economic Justice team members to ensure consistency and integration of
relevant policies on trade, investors, donor and stakeholder in
regional/global decision making. In achieving this objective Oxfam in
Indonesia attaches high importance to influencing policies and practices of
private sector actors within an overall Oxfam rights based approach.

Key Responsibilities

Together with the ONL Regional Economic Justice Programme Officer she/he
will be responsible for the portfolio management of ONL supported
activities in Indonesia, including accountability to ONL itself as well
as to Oxfam in Indonesia and the managing affiliate.

Make contribution to the national and global advocacy and campaigning
work in relation to e.g GROW campaign, Indonesia as a regional power,
Oxfam participation in global multi stakeholder initiatives and
achievements of JRAS/GLAS objectives with close coordination of the EJ
team in Indonesia, the ONL Regional EJ programme officer and the global
advocacy team.

For assigned parts of the ONL EJ programme portfolio she/he will be
responsible for planning, monitoring, and evaluation and learning of
these activities and the relations with the partners; this includes
grant management arrangements in close coordination with ONL regional EJ
programme officer as well as internal Oxfam planning and reporting
arrangements and, in specific cases, planning and reporting requirements
to external donors.

Support the EJ team in Indonesia in the implementation of planned
objective 2 of the Oxfam strategic plan 2011 – 2015 and its link to
JRAS/GLAS: fairer and more equitable market access for poor men and
women, in close coordination with involved Oxfam affiliates, partners
and other Oxfam staff.

Advise the EJ team in the further strengthening and development of the
private sector components in the Oxfam in Indonesia Economic Justice
programme; this includes the further development of joint Oxfam work as
well as acquisition of additional external funds; external fund raising
will crucial.

As a member of Oxfam Economic Justice team in Indonesia, she/ he will
assure further internal Oxfam integration, linking and learning for the
further development and strengthening of the joint portfolio on Economic
justice.

Ensure all Oxfam’s work addresses gender inequality, including assisting
NGO/partners in mainstreaming gender equality in the overall programme
cycle (planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation).

The competencies & requirement:

Education degree level in a relevant discipline with minimal 5 years
experiences in development work with responsibility in programme
planning and implementation, monitoring and learning.
Demonstrable experience working with private companies will be an
advantage.
Demonstrable experience in working within multi stakeholder initiatives,
sustainable value chains will be an advantage.
Demonstrable experience in advocacy and campaigning work will be an
advantage.
Demonstrable experience in developing quality proposals with external
donors as well as project implementation and accountability experience
will be an advantage.
Analytical skills with knowledge and good understanding on global and
national development issues. Proven experience in portfolio and/or
project management.
High capacity to work as part of a multi-cultural team and communicate
effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Fluency in both written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Excellent computer literacy.
Willingness to work flexible hours and to travel frequently within
countries and overseas.
Commitment to Oxfam’s overall aims and beliefs, including equal
