Walk Free is an international human rights organisation committed to ending all forms of modern slavery in this generation. This includes human trafficking, forced labour, and other practices described in key international treaties.

The Walk Free Partner Network is a pioneering new approach to campaign partnership. We are developing deep and strategic campaigning partnerships with leading national anti-slavery organizations in each of our initial target countries: Australia, Brazil, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Philippines, United Kingdom, United States. We will expand the program in the coming year, adding new partnerships in new countries.

We financially, strategically and technologically support each partner to develop online and offline grassroots campaigning power to change the laws, practices, and policies necessary to combat modern slavery in each national context.

Walk Free aims to amplify and extend the efforts of groups fighting slavery. By gathering a global community of activists, using social networks and new technologies, and organising campaigns and communities online and on the ground, we can make the fight against slavery a real priority across the world.

Key Responsibilities:
Walk Free is seeking a Campaigner to manage partnerships and implement campaigns in Philippines and Indonesia. The Campaigner will:
  • Support partner organisation(s) to deliver regular, effective grassroots campaigns, using our cutting edge suite of digital tools, from campaign selection, to design, to execution, to follow up
  • Contribute to the wider Walk Free team through taking initiative on program efficacy, regular evaluation, and participating in collaborative teamwork
  • Create social media strategies, including graphics, for campaign optimization online
  • Remain up to date on relevant topics/current events in the anti-slavery sector.
Skills and Expertise:
  • Align with Walk Free’s mission and values
  • 2 - 4 years of progressively responsible experience in advocacy in the nonprofit sector, using both online and offline tactics/technologies
  • Proven success in campaign planning and grassroots advocacy
  • Background in education, training, workshops, and partnership building
  • A strong demonstrated ability to plan, evaluate, and lead complex initiatives with a focus on social and political change
  • Demonstrated interest in and experience with progressive causes and grassroots organising is strongly preferred
  • Significant experience working in Southeast Asia
  • Fluency writing, reading and speaking in English/Bahasa Indonesia and/or Pilipino
  • Experience working around forced labour and/or anti-trafficking/slavery initiatives – or related field.
This position will be based in a major city in Philippines or Indonesia.
