The
Center for Public Policy Transformation (Transformasi, in Indonesian)
is a ‘networked think tank’ that brings together researchers, policy
makers, business, civil society groups and others. The aim is to narrow
the gap between policy makers, researchers and the public and to promote
evidence-based solutions to public problems.
Transformasi
is committed to facilitate policy dialog/forums at national level and
provide training program for mayors and district heads including key
staff at district level /key government officers at provincial level.
The main stakeholders of Transformasi are policy-makers at the
ministerial level and district heads as well as researchers or scholars.
Transformasi has identified three core issues to be addressed by the
program: fisheries and coastal management; urban land use planning and
basic services; and infrastructure development for connectivity in rural
areas.
The
present research will support Transformasi to build capacity and
prepare long-term programs including training for local leaders in
fisheries and coastal ecosystem management to be introduced in 2016.
Purpose of Transformasi’s Marine Program:
To
build consensus on policy issues relating to marine fisheries and
coastal ecosystem management in Indonesia, to achieve greater
coordination among levels of government, and to narrow the gap between
researchers and policy makers with respect to overfishing, sustainable
livelihoods for coastal communities and protection of coastal
ecosystems.
Purpose of the Study:
The
background research will explore the main policy issues in fisheries
and coastal ecosystem management at the national level and information
about several key marine and fisheries areas in Indonesia. This study
will show government priorities and policies as well the agenda of other
key development actors / network in their regions/areas of
intervention. Furthermore, the research will recommend opportunities for
Transformasi to play role as a ‘networked think tank’ in fisheries and
marines issues to avoid duplication of work of other organizations and
to ensure that Transformasi’s activities will complement the work that
has been done by other key stakeholders.
To conduct the Background Research, we hereby invite researchers and consultants to submit a maximum 2 (two) pages of:
