HEALTH CARE (PHC) OFFICER
The HIV
Cooperation Program for Indonesia (HCPI) is funded through the Department of
Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). This is an AUD72million project and is DFAT’s
principle HIV prevention program in Indonesia. The project’s purpose is to help
Indonesia plan, develop and implement an effective response to HIV.
Purpose of Role
HCPI has an
established and effective program of prevention of HIV transmission in
communities in Papua and West Papua.
There is however a need for the program to expand its health promotion
activities into other aspects of primary health care. The Public Health Care (PHC) Officer position
is based in Jayapura, reports to Prevention & Health Promotion Officer, and
will perform the following duties:
1. To
support the integration of health promotion for primary health care into the existing
HCPI program in Tanah Papua and possibly Bali
2. Build
capacity within the HCPI team and amongst HCPI partners in Primary Health Care
and health promotion
3. Liaise
with other programs PHC such as, PHO and REACH, UNICEF, and Kinerja
4. Coordinate
and support management of partners as required
5. Undertake
any other duties determined by the Supervisor/Team Leader
Duration
A term of up to one year fixed term contract, with
possible extension.
Minimum education and experience required
- Qualification in public health or related field
- Experience in community health promotion for international donor programs
- Experience in supporting CSO in health promotion
- A capacity to work with both government and non-government sectors, and
- Computer skills.
This role is best suited for
candidates based in Jayapura. Applicants
