British Council Indonesia Vacancy : Director of Business Development

The British Council is recruiting for the post of :
Director of Business Development Connect Indonesia
1 (one) position, 24 months with the possibility of extension – Jakarta - Indonesia
Purpose of job:
You will have overall responsibility for developing partnerships and fundraising for our innovative and exciting arts and cultural programmes that celebrate creative talent in Indonesia and the UK. Working in partnership with the Director of Arts and the wider arts team to support development of creative and professional skills and improve connections, networks and exchange between the UK and Indonesia.
You will inspire and encourage major brands and corporate companies to partner with the British Council for mutual benefit on a range of arts programmes. In addition you will track opportunities and deliver successful applications to bring on board new partners and sponsors for the British Council
You will secure and account-manage sponsors and partners for the Connect ID (Connect Indonesia Season)  programme including responsibility for contract negotiation and achieve income targets for the arts.
Context and environment: (e.g. dept description, region description, organogram)
The British Council are seeking new partnerships for Connect ID:  a set of high-impact, participatory, mobile and youth arts collaborations, programmes and projects that will take place from August 2015 to 2018 as part of our ongoing programme in the arts. The aspiration is that Connect ID will add a new, complementary aspect to the existing arts progamme. Connect ID, while initiated by the British Council will be co-created with likeminded brands and companies. For partners will be a package that offers a coherent set of opportunities to engage with the public and support the Indonesian cultural sector. The British Council will manage and deliver all activity as well as coordinate and deliver communication and evaluation of the programme.
Key duties of this post include:
·      Bring on board new partners and sponsors for the British Council.
·      Secure and account-manage sponsors and partners for the Connect ID programme
·      Track opportunities and deliver successful applications
·      Contract negotiation and achieve income targets for the arts.
·      Maintaining relationships with UK arts colleagues and arts sector
·      Project management and administration including financial, planning, risk and event management.

Internal: Country Director Indonesia, Director Arts Indonesia, Regional Arts Director, Regional Partnership Development Director Arts, Global Head of Arts Planning and Evaluation, Global head of Arts Operations  Global Partnerships team, UK Programme Manager, Indonesia arts team
External
CEOs, Marketing Managers, CSR Managers, Trust and Foundation Managers, Media, potential and existing funding partners; The British Embassy in Jakarta, staff including HMA and others.
Knowledge and Experience
·      Understanding of the funding context in Indonesia and Asia, expertise and knowledge of philanthropy, CSR and marketing.
·      at least 5 years’ experience working on partnerships and a proven track record in securing large amounts through fundraising for arts and culture.
·      Demonstrable experience in attracting new partners for collaboration and partnership
·      Confident in managing senior brand and corporate relationships
·      Excellent network of contacts across the business and corporate sectors in Asia.
