Background
Back in August 2013, MSI-SIAP 1 conducted Institutional
Development Framework (IDF) workshop towards several potential counterparts in
order to draft institutional improvement plan. One of the counterparts is in
needed further assistance in improving their organizational management. The
assistance will be useful to the partner in continuing their integrity and
accountability program, particularly after the end of MSI-SIAP 1’ program that
will fall on 2015. As a result, there will be number of potential aspects that
needs to be improved which are fund-raising management including donor mapping,
success story packaging and social media campaign to become more attractive to
donors.
Therefore, as part of MSI-SIAP 1’s successful support,
MSI-SIAP 1 hired a consultant who conducted further assessment on its
fund-raising strategy and management. As a result, the assessment showed a
necessity in improving its database management system of all the donors and
enhancing their effort to engage individual donors as one of important means in
strengthening their fund-raising activity.
In this regard, MSI-SIAP 1 will engage its technical
consultant to develop a strategy in engaging potential donors,
particularly high level donors.
As a prominent and leading anti-corruption CSO in Indonesia, the partner has a long list database
of high level institutions, both governmental and non-governmental, who also has
the same anti-corruption spirit and are keen to support the partner’s activities agains
corruption. Thus the consultant is expected to develop a strategy plan in
engaging these high level donors, including initially analyzing the profile,
track record, and motives of the institution.
SCOPE OF WORK
A. Objective:
Develop a strategy plan and improve the partner’s staffs capacity in engaging high level donors in order to
achieve the targeted amount of fund raising program, later to be adopted by
staff.
B.
Activities
1.
Three (3)
days for:
a. Reviewing
the list or database of partners and past donors of the partner.
b. Mapping and categorizing
potential high level donors, including seeking for new potential donors who are
assumed to be interested in anti-corruption campaign.
2.
Seven (5) days for:
a. Assisting the partner’s staff in
reviewing and analyzing the profile/background of the institution or company.
b. Assisting the partner in determining the high
level institutions or companies to be engaged, including elimination of
institution or companies with bad track records.
3.
Ten (10)
days for:
a. Developing a
draft of terms and condition as a procedure to be the partner’s donor
b. Developing a
strategy plan to engage the high level institutions or companies on how to
approach the those institutions/companies, including
c. Drafting a privacy policy for donors to ensure their identities are not
revealed, published or otherwise shared in public.
4.
Five (5) days for:
a.
Developing training materials
b.
Conducting a training on high level fund raising for staff
5.
Two (2) days for:
a. Preparing
hand-over notes to the
partner
b. Drafting and
submitting report to MSI
Deliverables:
- List of potential high level donors
- Assessment Report on the profile/background of the high level donors, institution or company.
- Strategy plan on engaging high level donors
- Non-Disclosure Agreement
- Training module and materials
- Training report
- Hand-over notes
- Final report to be submitted to MSI
Qualifications
1. Individual/personal
consultant
2. Minimum
Bachelor Degree from social sciences, communication, management, or related
disciplines.
3. Have at
least 5 years of experience related to fund raising/client
relationship management
4. Good
understanding on anti-corruption issues
5. Have a good
communication skill and good personality
6. Have an
experience working with CSOs and government agencies is preferrable.
