is seeking to fill the following position:
Senior Specialist Clinical Mentor - EMAS

Role purpose:
The Expanding Maternal
and Neonatal Survival (EMAS) project is a five year USAID-funded project
that seeks to reduce maternal and newborn mortality in Indonesia. It
focuses on improving the quality of emergency
obstetric and newborn care provided by hospitals and puskesmas and on
strengthening referral systems that transfer sick mothers and newborns
between facilities. EMAS works in 30 districts across 6 provinces.
The Clinical Mentor will focus on improving the
quality of emergency obstetric and newborn care and clinical services in
the referral system between hospitals and puskesmas/private practice at
the district. Working closely with the Quality
Improvement Coordinator staff at district level with oversight by
Jakarta-based technical advisors, he/she will manage all clinical
activities at the district level and will assist with implementation of
specific EMAS Project activities including: facility
level quality improvement initiatives through on site mentoring and
training, clinical governance, and adaptation of training and mentoring
materials as needed. In addition, the Clinical Mentor will work
together with district level EMAS staff to build relationships
with regional facility staff, District Health Offices, local community
organizations and community and professional leaders in ensuring the
provision of quality emergency obstetric and neonatal care at the
hospital and puskesmas/private practice.
