CARE International Indonesia (CII), as an international NGO, has carried out large scale operations in Indonesia, encompassing emergency operations, transitional activities centered on agriculture and nutrition and a range of development initiatives in such areas as water and sanitation, health and enterprise & economic development.

CARE International Indonesia in Kupang (East Nusa Tenggara-NTT) is currently recruiting the following position for its project:


JOB TITLE                             : FIELD COORDINATOR

JOB SUMMARY

CARE Indonesia (CII) is implementing a new initiative to contribute to national economic development of Indonesia. The initiative will be executed in Nusa Tenggara Timur Province. It is a 2.5 years livestock value chain strengthening that is aimed to improve the economic resilience of small holders through integrated capacity building for the small holders as well as relevant stakeholders in Kupang and its surrounding area.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

1. Promote and strengthening the CBO among-st the piggery farmers’ learning groups to form the structure, by law, internal capital accumulation and also the administration system both at the village and or the sub district level by using the community based asset approach as a foundation.
2. Promote the CBO capital accumulation and investment by using a village savings loan and action (VSLA) as a model.
3. Responsible to develop the mutual business system between the individual and the collective business among-st the piggery farmer’s group and promote the CBO productive business as a support to the piggery business and to run the good governance system on potential collective and or individual business.
4. Encouraging and supporting the piggery farmer CBOs in developing and maintain the network with the village authority and other stakeholders at the village and district levels and ensuring the CBO acceptability by the value chain actors.
5. Periodically visit the beneficiaries to monitor project progress and help to overcome the challenges faced by the beneficiaries in applying the training under the project
6. Gather preliminary data on the condition of the beneficiaries and then update it on a regular basis for monitoring and evaluation purposes
7. Together with specialists to evaluate the impact of project intervention
8. Bridging communication between project management, beneficiaries, local government and relevant stakeholders in the value chain enhancement issue
9. In accordance with the work plan, organize activities aimed to beneficiaries, including mobilization of beneficiaries and prepare required facilities and equipment
10. Facilitate the CBO groups in disseminate relevant information to broadening the outreach groups benefited on the knowledge and source of information and strategist a peer educator development
11. Facilitate training and/or regular meetings with the beneficiaries to ensure the achievement of expected output including developing TOR and reporting
12. Assist a specialists to perform mentoring and evaluation activities through among others; interview, observation, data analysis, focus group discussion, etc.
13. Coordinate a field facilitator group to ensure harmonization, standardization and optimizing of any project activities achievement.

QUALIFICATIONS

1) Education:
• University degree in animal and agriculture sciences, agriculture, economic or relevant background.
2) Experience:
• At least 5 (five) years proven in community facilitation capacity for livelihood development, particularly agriculture and/or livestock and or relevant sector.
3) Specific technical skills:
• Good communications skills, including negotiation skills particularly with community and local authority.
• Good interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for beneficiaries.
• Prepared to spend a considerable amount of time in the field.
• Honest, responsible, self-motivated, ability to work in tight schedule and able to take initiative under minimum supervision.
• Able to give helpful directions, detailed instructions and demonstrations.
• Demonstrate ability to independently work as well as to contribute in a cross cultural environment.
• Experience in building partnership with NGOs and other civil society organizations.
• Competent in Windows, MS Office programs, email and database experience.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written) is preferable.
• Has a motorcycle to support field activities, especially regular visits to the beneficiaries in the villages.
